General Hospital Spoilers: Willow Boasts About Shooting Drew—Could a Legal Technicality Keep Her Out of Prison?

Posted on December 30, 2025

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Willow Tait Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) may avoid serving any jail time for shooting her husband, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). So how could she get away with it if she really pulled the trigger? Let’s break down how a legal concept like double jeopardy could keep “Weeping Willow” out of prison.

Will Willow Walk Free?

Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is representing Willow and is in possession of an anonymous letter claiming that Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) was at the scene of the shooting—a fact Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is said to know.

The big question is whether this information will be presented to the jury during the week of December 29–January 2, or later when the trial resumes.

The case is riddled with complications, including the presence of Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina Robinson (Tabayana Ali) at Drew’s home on the night of the shooting. Because of all these twists, it’s possible Willow could ultimately be found not guilty.

Could Willow Be Acquitted?

At the same time, GH spoilers tease that Drew may experience a flashback to the night he was shot—potentially remembering that Willow was the one who did it.

If Drew’s memory returns after Willow has already been acquitted, or if Willow later admits the truth during a heated confrontation, the timing would be crucial. Once a verdict is reached, new revelations—no matter how damning—may come too late to change the legal outcome.

Will Drew Turn on Willow?

If Willow is implicated only after being acquitted, she can’t be prosecuted again thanks to the double jeopardy rule, which prevents someone from being tried twice for the same crime.

This legal technicality could keep Willow on the canvas rather than behind bars. The character still has plenty of story to tell, including her ongoing custody fight over Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko).

It would also set up a fiery new storyline in which Drew is forced to face the reality that Willow tried to kill him.

What’s Next in Port Charles?

How would Willow cope if the truth comes out? She’s already in a fragile mental state, having stalked baby Daisy Gilmore (Levi Clark Coughlin), among other troubling behavior.

Steamy General Hospital spoilers tease that the identity of Drew’s shooter will soon be revealed. Do you think Willow will escape punishment for attempted murder?
