Coronation Street exit ‘confirmed’ for Theo Silverton as fans believe they’ve worked out who kills him

Posted on December 31, 2025

Coronation Street viewers believe abusive Theo Silverton is heading for a brutal end in Weatherfield, with fans claiming to have spotted a telling clue.

Since Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) began a relationship with Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) earlier this year on the ITV soap, viewers have watched Todd slowly become a shadow of his former self.

Over recent months, Theo has systematically worn Todd down through violence, manipulation and controlling behaviour. Once confident and outgoing, Todd has been reduced to a bundle of nerves and has yet to confide in anyone about the terrifying abuse he has suffered at the hands of his boyfriend.

However, in Tuesday’s episode (December 30), one Weatherfield resident appeared to notice a shift in Todd’s demeanour, as his trademark bubbly personality continued to fade.

In recent Coronation Street scenes, Theo discovered that Todd had previously harboured several crushes, ranging from actor Andrew Scott to local businessman Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).

Enraged that Todd had even spoken to his childhood crush, Theo forcibly pulled him away to collect a birthday cake for George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley).

Outside the cake shop, Theo unleashed his anger on Todd, accusing him of flirting with Nick and turning their relationship into a joke.

Todd quickly tried to defend himself, insisting he had no romantic feelings for Nick and that their exchange had been completely innocent — but Theo refused to listen.

In a particularly cruel act, Theo forced Todd to walk home across Manchester while he drove the cake back to the party himself.

When Theo returned alone, he made a show of portraying himself as the hero of the day for saving the celebration by collecting the cake, prompting Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) to immediately notice Todd’s absence.

After Billy later came across Todd’s jacket and phone, he went to return them, only to be intercepted by Theo, who claimed Todd would already be asleep.

Billy eventually ran into Todd, who was cold, soaked through and clearly distressed after trudging across the city in the rain. Although Todd attempted to brush it off with excuses about being out without his coat or phone, Billy wasn’t convinced. He was certain Theo was involved, explaining that he knew Todd hadn’t been drinking nearly as much as Theo had suggested.

In an effort to show Todd that he had someone willing to support him, Billy offered him a key to his flat in case he needed a place to stay. Todd, however, declined Billy’s help and continued on his way home.

Despite this, Coronation Street viewers are convinced that Billy has realised Todd is being abused and fear he may end up killing Theo — an act that could see the vicar sent to prison.

Daniel Brocklebank first appeared on the ITV soap in late 2014 as the reformed vicar Billy Mayhew, and over the years, his character has witnessed plenty of drama unfold on the cobbles.

But Billy’s time in Weatherfield is coming to a close, as Daniel confirmed he will be leaving the role after 11 years. On X, one fan wrote: “Billy is going to chin Theo. #Corrie.”

Another commented: “I reckon Billy will kill Theo, then get life in prison — that’s how he leaves Corrie.”

On Facebook, one viewer shared: “I think Billy dies in Corrie, but not sure,” while another responded: “Other way around… Billy will take out Theo.”

“Billy can tell something isn’t right with Todd, I think he ends up killing Theo,” added a third fan.
