During the Corriedale crossover, Coronation Street and Emmerdale viewers were introduced to a mysterious hostage named Jodie, and fans believe they’ve figured out her true identity.
A new soap character appearing in Corriedale with mysterious links to both Emmerdale and Coronation Street has sent fans into a frenzy.
Jodie made her debut as a mysterious woman tied up in the back of a van during the special hour-long crossover episode on Monday, January 5. The storyline took a shocking twist when the driver of the van was revealed to be Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), a former Emmerdale resident.
Fans will recall that Graham was thought to have been killed in a 2020 whodunnit. However, in Corriedale, he is alive, shown speaking on the phone to an unknown person while watching Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), who was hospitalized following the fatal multi-car crash, discuss his injuries with the nurses.
During the chaos, Joe mentioned that Jodie had escaped and fled into the woods before sustaining injuries herself. Later, a tattoo on her wrist was briefly shown on screen, hinting at a possible connection to Coronation Street’s Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), leaving fans speculating about her true identity.
The camera shifted from Jodie’s tattoo to Shona’s on her back, who was later seen at the same hospital with David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd). The tattoos looked almost identical, sparking speculation about whether the two characters are connected.
Fans are convinced they’ve worked out Jodie’s real identity and how she may be linked to Shona.
On X (formerly Twitter), one fan commented:

While Jodie’s backstory has yet to be revealed, fans may recognise Coronation Street newcomer Olivia Frances Brown from her appearances in TV series such as Boiling Point and the thriller The Gathering.
In addition to acting, Olivia is a jazz singer, known for her debut single “Shade of Red.”
She has amassed 17,900 followers on Instagram, where many fans regularly interact with her posts. Her profile description reads: “Probably singing jazz standards somewhere.”
Off-screen, Olivia is in a happy relationship with award-winning actor James Nelson Joyce.
The 36-year-old Scouser had a standout year in 2025, earning praise for his scene-stealing performance in A Thousand Blows before solidifying his leading man status in This City Is Ours.
Meanwhile, Olivia frequently shares glimpses of her busy life on social media, posting everything from stunning holiday snaps to a beautiful photo with her partner on Christmas Day.
She captioned the festive post: “Merry Xmas from JNJ & OFB,” which was liked by thousands of fans, including several familiar Coronation Street faces such as Claire Sweeney, Lucy Fallon, Andy Whyment, and Julia Goulding.
