Soap fans fear Coronation Street’s David Platt may be facing a heartbreaking exit.

Coronation Street fans are worried that soap icon David Platt may be heading for a heartbreaking exit.
David has been a fixture on the soap for more than two decades, first appearing in 1990. As the mischievous son of Gail (Helen Worth), he has become a firm favourite with viewers.
He has also been at the centre of numerous major storylines. From nearly being killed by his stepfather Richard Hillman to his turbulent marriages, David’s time in Weatherfield has been packed with drama.
That drama continues this week, as David and his pregnant wife Shona (Julia Goulding) were involved in a catastrophic crash during the epic crossover episode, Corriedale.

Corrie’s Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) was driving a minibus carrying wedding guests back from Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) and Ronnie Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan) big day when the crash occurred.
David and Shona managed to escape the vehicle, but Billy was trapped and tragically died. Once out, Shona panicked when she thought she couldn’t feel her baby, but Emmerdale’s Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) reassured her that the child was safe.

The drama didn’t end there for David, as things took a terrifying turn at the hospital when Shona’s waters broke and she went into labor.
Suddenly, David—who was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2010—collapsed and had a seizure while Shona watched in horror.
In Tuesday’s episode (January 6), it was confirmed that David was okay and had made a full recovery. However, his sister Sarah (Tina O’Brien) voiced her worries, reminding him that it had been a while since his last seizure.

With more drama on the horizon, fans are beginning to fear that David could be facing a fatal storyline. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer wondered: “Is David having a seizure part of a bigger plot? Could he be killed off?”
Another wrote: “He was diagnosed years ago, but I have a feeling something serious is going to happen to him.” A third heartbroken fan added: “Same here, I’ll be in tears if they write him off.”
