BBC soap EastEnders will introduce new character Bea Pollard, who develops an interest in Max Branning after moving into Peacock Palace in upcoming episodes.
EastEnders fans believe they have uncovered the identity of Max Branning’s mystery pregnant lover. During Thursday’s (January 8) episode of the BBC soap, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) became defensive at a school reunion after former classmate Bea Pollard (Ronni Ancona) shared her own version of their school days, casting Linda in an unflattering light.
Later, while Linda and Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) were together, Honey accidentally picked up Bea’s handbag instead of her own. Back at Peacock Palace, the incident gave Linda pause for thought, prompting her to apologise to Bea for her past behaviour. She and Honey used the address found in the bag to visit Bea.
When they arrived, they discovered Bea was being evicted. Linda then offered her a room at Peacock Palace while she gets back on her feet — the same boutique hotel where Max is currently staying.
Viewers are now convinced that Bea could be the pregnant woman seen in bed with serial womaniser Max Branning (Jake Wood) during the flash-forward episode that aired on New Year’s Day.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: “Does anyone else think Bea could be important to the upcoming Max storylines??? #EastEnders.”
Another commented: “Right, playing detective here, but could Linda’s new friend Bea be the woman Max is having an affair with — and the one who’s pregnant — even though he’s marrying Linda?”
A third viewer added: “OK… so Bea is definitely going to be Max’s baby mama. #EastEnders.”
In the flash-forward episode, Max was shown waking up in 2027. As he turned over, a mysterious woman was also seen waking, though her identity was hidden.
The woman was visibly pregnant, gently cradling her baby bump, and the scene cut to a baby scan and pregnancy supplements.
While her identity remains unknown, the clip seemed to suggest that Max could soon be expecting a child with a mystery partner, as he looked on smiling at her.
In the same clip, Max was shown with a suit hanging up, hinting at a wedding, but it later became clear that the bride was not the woman in his bed.
Spoilers for next week reveal that Bea begins to take a liking to Max as she settles into Peacock Palace.
When Linda’s son Ollie Carter encounters a problem at school, Max offers to take Bea out so Linda can focus on her son. Bea is thrilled at the chance to have a “date” with Max.
Fans are aware that Linda and Max share a history and have a daughter, Annie, but could Max end up with her former school friend instead?
