EastEnders actor left struggling for life after assault by his father

Posted on January 11, 2026

The situation remains serious as one individual continues to fight for life in a coma after Thursday’s assault

BBC soap EastEnders has revealed the fallout from Nugget’s violent attack, and the news isn’t positive.

During Wednesday’s (January 7) trip to Walford, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) hatched a plan to spike Ravi Gulati’s drink as revenge for Harry’s (Elijah Holloway) kidnapping and drug ordeal.

Unbeknownst to the mother-and-son pair, Ravi (Aaron Thiara) wasn’t prosecuted for his drug offences because he became a police informant.

After being denied permission to attend Eve (Heather Peace) and Suki’s (Balvinder Sopal) adoption meeting with the rest of the family, Ravi went to Harry’s Barn, where he shared a drink with Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), who was still grieving the loss of his son, Anthony (Nicholas Bailey).

Ravi insisted he had turned over a new leaf and wanted a fresh start with his family, leaving his life of crime behind—but the Mitchells had other ideas.

Taking advantage of the situation, landlady Nicola offered the grieving Patrick a free drink and decided to do the same for Ravi. She secretly spiked Ravi’s drink with a dangerous amount of drugs and served both him and Patrick, while Harry watched his rival consume the toxic mix of alcohol and narcotics.

Soon, Ravi began staggering out of the bar, bumping into George Knight (Colin Salmon) as he made his way toward the Square—only to be intercepted by an amused Harry

The garage worker helped Ravi into The Arches and positioned him in the pit, where he endured torment before being left alone.

While experiencing hallucinations, Ravi heard footsteps approaching, followed by the familiar voice of his violent father, Nish.

On Thursday, Nish (Navin Chowdhry) returned and reunited with Ravi, who had managed to escape from The Arches.

In his delusion, Ravi believed Nish was trying to strangle him, so he fought back and violently attacked his father. In reality, Nish wasn’t present, and Ravi had inadvertently assaulted his son, Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury).

In upcoming EastEnders scenes, Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) remains by her son Nugget’s side as he is placed in an induced coma.

Nugget’s family gathers at his hospital bedside, anxiously waiting for any updates on the injured teenager.

Meanwhile, Ravi regains consciousness after being spiked, with no memory of the events from the previous night. Upon returning home and charging his phone, he sees a series of alarming messages.

He is horrified to learn about his son’s attack, and as fragments of memory resurface, Ravi is devastated to realise that he may be responsible for the horrific incident. Will Nugget survive the assault at the hands of his own father?
