Coronation Street’s Julie star has two sons in Hollywood, leaving fans amazed

Posted on January 13, 2026

Coronation Street actress Katy Cavanagh, known for playing Julie Carp, has two sons who are well-known Hollywood stars.

Coronation Street fans may be surprised to learn that actress Katy Cavanagh, who portrayed Julie Carp, is the mother of two very talented sons.

The 52-year-old played Julie on the cobbles from 2008 to 2015 and made a return last year to be part of Eileen Grimshaw’s (Sue Cleaver) exit storyline. In a tragic twist, Julie’s character was killed off after revealing she had been diagnosed with cancer.

Outside of Coronation Street, Katy is also known for her work in The Cops, The Bill, Bob & Rose, and Murder on the Blackpool Express.

Katy’s family is equally accomplished: she and her producer husband, Chris Jupe, have three children, including her actor sons Noah, 20, and Jacobi, 11. Both have already made a mark in Hollywood, appearing in the film Hamnet alongside Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, and Joe Alwyn.

Noah and Jacobi recently starred in Hamnet, with Jacobi portraying Hamnet Shakespeare, the son of William and Agnes and twin brother to Judith, while Noah took on the role of Hamlet.

Before Hamnet, Jacobi appeared in Disney’s 2023 film Peter Pan & Wendy as Michael Darling and also had roles in TV series including Britannia, Tom Jones, and Before.

Meanwhile, older brother Noah has an impressive list of credits. He appeared in the horror hit A Quiet Place and its sequel A Quiet Place Part II, acting alongside Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, and Cillian Murphy, playing Marcus Abbott, the on-screen son of Evelyn (Blunt) and Lee (Krasinski).

Noah has also played Henry Fraser in The Undoing alongside Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, and appeared in the film Suburbicon, starring Matt Damon and Julianne Moore.

Noah is also recognized for his role as Daniel Roper in The Night Manager, as well as his appearance in the film Ford v Ferrari.

Speaking to Variety, Noah opened up about his family’s long-standing ties to showbiz: “My mum was an actress for a while, my dad’s a producer, he’s been an AD, been on film sets his whole life, so we’re a very film-oriented family. We’re very savvy when it comes to the industry.”

He explained that having such experienced parents was invaluable during his early acting work: “It was really helpful working as a kid because my parents were on set, they knew what they were doing, and they understood all the different intricacies of being on set.”
