EastEnders viewers finally discover the identity of Zoe Slater’s daughter, thought dead for 19 years — and that’s not the only shocking twist
The identity of Zoe Slater’s daughter has been revealed in a shocking twist on EastEnders.
Earlier this year, viewers saw flashback scenes showing Zoe (Michelle Ryan) giving birth to twins in 2006. She instructed the midwives to place her son for adoption and fled the hospital before learning the condition of her critically ill daughter.
Zoe had originally told Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) that the baby’s father was her ex-husband Dennis Rickman (Nigel Harman), hoping Sharon would spend money to hire a private investigator to track down her long-lost son.
Sharon went ahead with the investigation, desperate to find any connection to her late Dennis, but Zoe’s lie was soon exposed, and the private investigator was called off.
Since then, the search for Zoe’s daughter has been partly overshadowed by a mysterious tormentor who has unleashed a torrent of abuse on her, leading Zoe to seek support from her ex, Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey).
Unbeknownst to her, he was showing signs of a disturbing obsession, scrolling through several saved photos on his laptop.
During Monday’s (December 15) episode, the GP went to Walford General to meet an acquaintance who had applied for a position at the Panesar House Surgery.
Dr. Anthony asked if she could access hospital records for one of his patients, suggesting it would help her job application. The woman handed over a stack of documents, which he quickly identified as belonging to Zoe. After doing some quick calculations based on the babies’ birth date, he concluded that he must be the father.
Another notable detail on the papers revealed that Zoe’s baby girl had been resuscitated and subsequently placed for adoption.
Meanwhile, across Walford, Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) was brought into the police station amid suspicions that she might be connected to the criminals who targeted Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).
Officers were puzzled as to why her parents were listed as “unknown,” and Jasmine explained that she had been adopted and had recently moved to East London to find her birth mother, Zoe.
