Fans of EastEnders speculate that Sean Slater may be making a comeback with Stacey Slater, as the pair reunited on set for the first time in four years.
An EastEnders favourite has sparked return rumours after being pictured in a heartwarming reunion with Lacey Turner.
Lacey, who portrays Walford legend Stacey Slater, appeared alongside her on-screen brother, Sean Slater, played by Robert Kazinsky, in a photo he shared on Instagram. The selfie was posted despite Lacey taking a short break from filming. Captioning the image, Robert wrote: “Love from Brazil (seriously, who’s idea was that?) Like time never passes with the best of the best. @laceyturner.”
On screen, Stacey had travelled to Brazil to join Sean, taking up a job with him and leaving behind her mother Jean Slater, daughter Lily Slater, and granddaughter Charli Slater.
In the selfie, the pair beamed as they put their arms around each other, marking their first appearance together in nearly four years.
Fans were quick to speculate that Robert Kazinsky might be returning to EastEnders soon. His last on-screen appearance was in 2022, though he did briefly cameo via a video call with his family.
Underneath his post, one fan wrote: “Can we please bring Stacey & Sean back together?” Another added: “Love to see you and Lacey back in EastEnders.” A third commented: “Oh this makes my heart happy, long live the Slater siblings.”
Lacey responded with love heart emojis in the comments, as did Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning, sparking further speculation among fans. One fan even suggested: “Oscar looks more like Sean than Max – maybe a new story coming?!!!”
This year marks 20 years since Sean first appeared in Walford in 2006. While the BBC has not confirmed any plans for his return, fans remain hopeful.
This comes as Lacey Turner enjoys a break from EastEnders. The actress took an “extended break” from Albert Square to focus on her family, including her three young children, as well as pursuing other personal projects.
During her time away from the show, Lacey celebrated a milestone: her youngest child, Gipsy, marked her first birthday. She is also mother to six-year-old daughter Dusty and four-year-old son Trilby, all shared with her husband Matt Kay.
On Tuesday (January 13), Lacey shared a sweet Instagram post featuring a compilation of snapshots of her daughter, set to Fleetwood Mac’s 1982 classic Gypsy. She captioned the post: “This is ONE!! A whole year of you baby! Today and every day we celebrate you!!! (and your funny face). Love you forever and ever.”
Several of her EastEnders co-stars joined in to send their well wishes.
