Period drama fans and Agatha Christie followers were delighted when Netflix finally released its adaptation of Seven Dials Mystery. The British mini-series, filmed across Bath and Bristol, stars Mia McKenna-Bruce in the leading role of Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent.
The 28-year-old English actress, whose full name is Mia Sasha McKenna-Bruce, first found fame playing Tee Taylor in several Tracy Beaker spin-offs. She debuted in the role in 2010 and went on to appear in Tracy Beaker Returns, The Dumping Ground and The Tracy Beaker Survival Files.
Her film credits include Persuasion and How to Have Sex, with the latter earning her the BAFTA Rising Star Award as well as a European Film Award nomination for Best Actress.
Born in 1997 and raised in Bromley, Mia trained as a dancer before landing her first professional role as a ballet performer in the West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical. Early in her career, she also appeared in EastEnders as Penny Branning, the daughter of Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), making two guest appearances in 2008, according to the Mirror.

Mia previously spoke about her height in an interview with 1883 Magazine while discussing her role in Persuasion, where she starred opposite Ben Bailey Smith. She explained that although both actors were cast via Zoom and the height difference was known in advance, the contrast was even more striking in person.
She recalled that on their first day of filming together, it was amusing to see just how tall Ben was compared to her, admitting the camera crew often struggled to fit them both into the same shot. Mia later joked that she never quite reached five feet, describing herself as just under that mark and saying people are often surprised by how small she is in real life.

Speaking to British Vogue about his proposal, Mia recalled: “He made me a lovely breakfast spread with crumpets – because I love crumpets. Then he gave me a card, which isn’t really like Tom, he’s not one for romance. It said, ‘Are you ready to get married, yes or no?’ with boxes to tick. He even reminded me at the wedding that I never ticked the box saying yes – I was too busy screaming!”
The couple welcomed their first child, son Leo, in August 2023. Mia has spoken about how motherhood has changed her perspective during interviews on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast. She said: “I love, love, love my work. But now I love it for a whole different reason, because it’s going to give me the chance to travel with Leo, it’s going to give him amazing experiences. One day he’ll look back and think, ‘Oh my God, my mum was at the BAFTAs and I was six months old.’ Surely he’ll think I’m a cool mum.”
