“Coronation Street reveals Shona and Jodie’s dad, and fans have already crossed paths with him”

Posted on January 21, 2026

“Coronation Street has recently introduced Jodie Ramsey, Shona Platt’s long-lost sister.”

Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve worked out the identity of Shona Platt and Jodie Ramsey’s dad.

Soap viewers will remember that the hit ITV show recently introduced Shona’s estranged sister, Jodie, during the Coronation Street and Emmerdale crossover event, Corriedale.

Jodie was being held in the back of a van by none other than Emmerdale’s Graham Foster, who made a shocking return after six years off-screen.

During a dramatic car pile-up, Jodie managed to escape the van and ran into a nearby wooded area, only to knock herself out on a tree.

When she woke up in hospital, she was stunned to see her estranged sister Shona there as well, having also been caught up in the car crash—a huge and unexpected coincidence.

In scenes this week, Jodie confronted Shona about their past, accusing her of abandoning her with their terrible parents and claiming that Shona never truly cared.

Looking ahead, Shona confides in her husband David Platt that she is tempted to try and track down their dad to uncover the truth behind Jodie’s story.

Meanwhile, fans on social media believe they may have already figured out who Shona and Jodie’s dad is—and it’s someone we’ve already met. Many viewers are speculating that Emmerdale’s Graham Foster could be the sisters’ biological father, which would explain his connection to Jodie during Corriedale.

One fan wrote: “Hang on…could Graham from Emmerdale be the father of Shona and Jodie in Corrie…?!” Another responded: “I said that too!” Others commented: “The thought had crossed my mind,” “What a great storyline that would be!” and “I thought the same thing last night.”

Elsewhere, another viewer pointed out: “I was thinking that when Jodie was telling Shona about her dad locking her in the room, and in Corriedale she was in the back of Graham’s van—could there be a connection?” Another fan replied: “There is definitely a connection. Just not sure what yet.”

Emmerdale’s Graham was born on 11th August 1968, which makes him 58 this year. Shona, meanwhile, was born in 1987, making her 39.

Viewers will remember that Graham first appeared on Emmerdale in 2017 as the legal guardian, father figure, and right-hand man to Joe Tate. The show briefly explored his past, revealing that he had an affair with Kim Tate while in a relationship with a woman named Cheryl.

Although Graham didn’t love Cheryl, he married her after she became pregnant. One day, after dropping Cheryl off at her baby shower, Graham drank a bottle of whisky at the pub. Later, when picking her up, his intoxication caused him to lose control of the car, resulting in a crash. Instead of calling an ambulance, Graham phoned Kim, and the car subsequently exploded, killing Cheryl and their unborn child.

Kim stood by Graham through the tragedy, and he later gave up drinking and dedicated himself to supporting the Tate family. Could Graham have fathered Shona and Jodie at some point in his past?
