Coronation Street star Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman, has been a fan favourite for years—and viewers are amazed by how much he’s grown up.

Jude joined the long-running soap in 2020, stepping into the role of Sam as Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) secret son, and he quickly captured viewers’ hearts.
Since then, Sam has been central to several major storylines, including the devastating loss of his mother, Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), who was killed by criminal Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).
More recently, Sam has found himself at the heart of a new plot after becoming suspicious about the connection between athletics coach Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) and Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).
As viewers are aware, Megan has been grooming Will and is now pregnant with his baby. Their secret relationship has so far been kept hidden from his family and friends. However, this week Sam begins to suspect that something isn’t right between Megan and Will.
In Monday’s episode (January 26), Sam notices Will wearing a jacket that had been left behind at Megan’s flat. Putting the pieces together, Sam confronts Will and questions whether he is involved in an inappropriate relationship with Megan.
Will quickly denied the accusation and brushed off Sam’s worries, but it was clear that Sam wasn’t fully convinced. Things took a darker turn later when Megan confronted Sam directly and issued a veiled warning to keep him quiet.
Away from the cobbles, viewers have also been left astonished by how much Sam actor Jude Riordan has grown up, with many now eager to find out the young star’s age.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer commented, “Sam looks different—is it the same boy?” Another added, “Sam has grown up,” while a third noted, “Sam has aged a couple of years now.” Jude Riordan, who plays Sam, is currently 14 and will celebrate his 15th birthday this May.
Outside of Coronation Street, Jude has appeared in projects such as Channel 4’s documentary The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6 Year Olds in 2017, and he played Little Phil in Katy. He also appeared in Sky One’s Brassic as Tyler Croft, where his on-screen mother was portrayed by former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan.
