A Strictly Come Dancing contestant seems to have subtly taken a dig at Amber Davies following her advance to the BBC show’s grand finale. Karen Carney, George Clarke, and Amber are all set to face off in next weekend’s highly anticipated finale.
EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal was eliminated at the final stage of the competition, leaving alongside her professional partner Julian after going up against Amber in the dreaded dance-off. The judges unanimously chose to save Amber.
Reflecting on her time on Strictly, Balvinder said: “I’ve absolutely loved every single moment—the dance-offs, the challenges—but more than anything, just being in this building and dancing on this floor with such an incredible human being. It was my Yes Year, and I said yes to Strictly. My family and I have been through tough times, but they’ve always been here for me.”
Speaking directly to Julian, she added: *”You’ve been incredible in every way—whether I wobbled or nailed a dance and got the steps right, you’ve always been there for me, saying, ‘Bal, we’ve got this.’
“It’s always been just the two of us, and we’ve tackled every single dance together. I’ve never felt alone on this floor, and I just want you to remember me. Don’t replace me too quickly,”* reports the Mirror.
It seems Balvinder may have taken a subtle swipe at Amber during her exit interview on It Takes Two. Talking about her experience with Fleur East and her dance-off against Amber, she commented: “She’s on a different level.”
She continued, “So going up against Amber, honestly, it was game over for us because we’re not at that level. I entered this competition as a complete beginner.”
Amber, meanwhile, has faced criticism from viewers due to her West End background. She came under fire following the dance-off that led to Lewis Cope and Katya Jones being eliminated.
Reflecting on the week, Amber said: “I’d like to think I have thick skin, but this week has been tougher than usual. I just want to remind everyone that I wasn’t originally supposed to be here. I was a last-minute replacement, and I’m simply doing my best.”
Nikita also offered a heartfelt tribute to his partner. “From the moment you joined, you’ve faced so much hate every single day, and this week was no different. Yet, you still came into the training room each day with a big smile, ignoring it all,” he said, referring to the trolling Amber has endured.
“You even gave me love, and a ginger shot too. But mostly, you gave so much kindness—you were always caring, thinking of me even when you should have been thinking of yourself. You show love every single day, and you are such a genuinely lovely person.”
“And I want to say to the audience at home—please, just be kind. It costs nothing. Amber doesn’t deserve any of the negativity; she only deserves love. Without her, I wouldn’t be here, and the show wouldn’t be as amazing as it is.”
