Helen Flanagan targeted her ex Scott Sinclair in a profanity-laced Instagram tirade this week after becoming frustrated with the former footballer’s “selfish” actions.
The ex-Coronation Street star, 35, lost her temper when she saw pictures of Scott, 36, enjoying the Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, having skipped their four-year-old son’s Christmas nativity play to watch Lando Norris clinch his first Drivers’ Championship.
Reacting online to the ex-Celtic player, she reposted his jet-setting Instagram snaps and fumed: “You really are a piece of s**t. How dare you not turn up to Charlie’s nativity.”
Now, sources say Helen “wanted to make a point,” and Scott’s decision to miss Charlie’s school performance was just the tip of the iceberg.
A friend told The Sun: “Helen is working full-time in panto at the moment, so she was expecting Scott to step in for the nativity since she has a lot on her plate and he’s retired. When he didn’t, she was understandably frustrated and took to social media to vent and make her point. Their relationship can be tough at times – co-parenting isn’t easy.”
Helen was seen looking glum on Wednesday as she headed to her latest panto performance in Liverpool, where she stars as the Wicked Queen in Snow White.
Another friend said: “Helen is furious with Scott’s behaviour. He’s only thinking about himself, not their children. She said, ‘I’m done letting him treat his family like this.’ At the end of the day, Helen is the mother of his kids and he needs to show more respect.”
Helen and Scott share three children: daughters Matilda, ten, Delilah, seven, and their four-year-old son Charlie.
Friends say tensions between Helen and Scott are so high that they’ve blocked each other on WhatsApp and are now communicating through family members.
Meanwhile, another source close to the couple blames newly single Scott for embracing his “Hot Boy Winter” lifestyle, leaving his family to bear the brunt.
Posing in front of a giant F1 sign, he gleefully posted: “What a weekend – Abu Dhabi F1. Happy Days, blurry nights.”
A source told The Sun: “Ever since Scott became single again, things have gone downhill. It’s been an incredibly tough few months for Helen, who feels like she’s working her socks off while Scott doesn’t seem to understand.
“To make matters worse, he has the children for Christmas this year, which is another blow.”
