Fans of Emmerdale spot Nick Miles, who plays Jimmy King, on a different beloved UK series
Emmerdale fans have been left stunned after discovering a long-forgotten 90s role played by Jimmy King star Nick Miles.
The 63-year-old actor first joined the Dales as Jimmy in 2004, appearing alongside his brothers Matthew (Matt Healy), Max (Charlie Kemp), Carl (Tom Lister), and his father Tom (Ken Farrington).
Jimmy has faced a turbulent life in the village, dealing with the deaths of all his brothers and his father. He’s been involved in numerous business ventures, a feud with the Sugden family, and was even stabbed by Daz Eden (Luke Tittensor) after an arson attack he had started.
His personal life has also been rocky, with the breakdown of his marriage to Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), before later marrying Nicola Blackstock (Nicola Wheeler) and becoming a father in later life.
In 2024, Jimmy became central to a gripping storyline when his nephew Tom (James Chase) began physically and emotionally abusing his wife, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper). Initially blind to the abuse, Jimmy eventually confronted Tom and supported Belle throughout Tom’s trial.

Drama continued for Jimmy last year when his son, Carl Holliday (Charlie Joyce), shared an indecent image of Clemmie Reed (Mabel Addison) in a school group chat. The secret came to light after Clemmie’s brother, Lucas Taylor (Noah Ryan Aspinall), confronted Carl at school.
Outside of Emmerdale, Jimmy actor Nick Miles has appeared in several other TV shows, including Heartbeat, Peak Practice, Silent Witness, and Casualty.
Recently, several Emmerdale fans discovered Nick’s 90s role in the police drama The Bill, where he played Chief Superintendent Guy Mannion. He appeared in 13 episodes between 1999 and 2001. Guy was based at the neighbouring Barton Street police station and crossed paths with the Sun Hill officers while on a course.
Sharing a picture of Nick’s appearance on Reddit, one fan wrote: “If anyone used to watch The Bill, Nick Miles once starred in it as Chief Superintendent Guy Mannion during the 90s.”

Fans had plenty to say about Nick’s role, with one joking: “Wonder if [he] would have done better than the Hotten Police, given what we’ve seen recently?”
Another added: “Not as menacing looking in his older age. There was a real glint in his eye back in The Bill,” while a third exclaimed: “Omg totally forgot about this!”
A fourth fan commented: “I think there was some rivalry between him and the older officers at Sun Hill because he was so young. It was quite funny.”
Nick wasn’t the only Emmerdale star to appear at Sun Hill police station. Moira Dingle and Ruby Miligan actresses Natalie J. Robb and Beth Cordingly are also credited in The Bill, alongside Jaye Griffiths, who played Celia Daniels.
Jaye recently left Emmerdale after her character Celia was murdered by her son, Ray Walters (Joe Absolom), on New Year’s Day. Celia’s body was discovered on Moira’s property last week, causing more trouble for the beloved farmer.
