EastEnders airs shock return for fan favourite after lengthy break

Posted on February 17, 2026

Big Mo Harris has made her return to Walford after several months away and was soon filled in on the latest family drama, including the arrival of new relative Jasmine Fisher.

A familiar face has made a comeback to EastEnders after an extended absence from Walford.

Big Mo Harris (Laila Morse) returned to our screens in Monday’s (February 16) episode of EastEnders, which is now streaming on BBC iPlayer.

The much-loved character originally departed Walford in October to recuperate with her granddaughter Lynne Slater (Elaine Lordan) after breaking her leg.

During her absence, the Slater family learned of a new relative — Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness), revealed to be the daughter of Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) and the late Dr Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey).

Viewers currently believe that Jasmine may have set her mother Zoe up for Anthony’s murder, while Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is determined to uncover the truth about what really took place on Christmas Day.

Mo was delighted to reunite with Jake Moon (Joel Beckett) but far from thrilled to see Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) back at The Queen Vic.

She and Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) kept a close watch on the pair while Kat went in search of Jasmine, hoping to bring her home and extract a confession from the killer.

Meanwhile, the Trueman family were preparing for Anthony’s funeral. Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) was dreading the day, with his family rallying around to offer comfort. His last words to Anthony still haunted him — he had told his son he wished he had died instead of elder son Paul Trueman (Gary Beadle), unaware of the shocking events that were about to unfold.

After two months away, Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) returned to the living room to pay his respects.

He was met with a frosty reception, as viewers will recall that when he was last seen in December, the family had condemned him for blackmailing Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier).

Oscar had stolen Patrick’s betting winnings, and when Howie discovered this, he took the money for himself, using it to spoil his partner Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) with gifts.

Despite the tense atmosphere, Kim looked up and gave him a small smile. The episode concluded with Kat finally obtaining the confession she needed from Jasmine — but what will she do with this explosive information?
