It’s clear that he touched the lives of so many. We are, of course, referring to former General Hospital star Anthony Geary, best known for his iconic portrayal of Luke Spencer on the long-running ABC soap.
Sadly, the actor’s passing has left many people heartbroken, including his former General Hospital co-star Brandon Barash. Few fans realized just how close the two men were.
Brandon, who has also starred on Days of Our Lives, made it clear that Anthony held a deeply special place in his life, both personally and professionally.
The actor shared a photo of the pair together near Anthony’s home in Amsterdam, along with an emotional tribute honoring the late star.
In his message, Brandon wrote:
“How is it that you’ve left this earthly plane so prematurely? (although you wouldn’t think so). The idea that I don’t have the words to properly express my pain and emptiness would bring you great joy—and even a few bursts of laughter.”
“The countless hours we spent on your boat or in your home talking about words—our favorite books, me reading your work aloud, you reading mine, even our favorite curse words in different languages—the irony of it all isn’t lost on me,” Brandon shared.

He went on to add, “A piece of my heart broke today. That’s okay—I’ll put it back together with the sparkliest glue I can find. The spaces between the pieces will now be filled with memories from one of the most unique and, at times, whimsical friendships this life has given me.”
Brandon has not made any further public statements, but it’s clear he is navigating a deeply painful and fragile time. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Anthony Geary’s family, friends, and former co-stars. Port Charles truly won’t be the same.
