Posted on December 27, 2025

An Emmerdale star has given fans an exciting update about their family

Emmerdale fans were thrilled as one of the hit ITV soap’s stars shared a heartwarming family update on Boxing Day.

Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy Metcalfe on Emmerdale, announced back in September that she is expecting her second child with EastEnders actor Toby-Alexander Smith.

On Boxing Day, Amy, 38, took to Instagram to reveal the gender of her second child in a charming video titled: “New addition to the family incoming!”

The clip shows Amy and Toby’s daughter, Bonnie, sitting on the stairs in front of her cousins, who are all boys. Text on the video reads: “When it’s your last Christmas before becoming a big sister… will I still be the only girl in the family?”

The video then reveals the baby’s gender, showing a football being kicked and pink powder bursting into the air as the family celebrates. Text on the video reads: “Girl power coming in 2026.”

Amy’s 194K followers, along with her Emmerdale co-stars, were quick to share their congratulations on the happy news.

Natalie Ann Jamieson, who plays Amy Wyatt, wrote: “Can not waitttttt x x x” with heart emojis, while Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa Woodfield, commented with heart emojis. Bradley Riches, who portrays Lewis Barton, added three white hearts.

Amy and Toby married in Montenegro in September 2023, surrounded by family and friends, following their engagement in August 2022. They are already parents to a daughter, Bonnie, who was born in December 2021.

On Tuesday, 9 September, the couple confirmed their pregnancy, announcing that Bonnie will soon become an older sister.

She continued: “Mummy has got a baby in her tummy. A baby sister or brother for you,” as the camera revealed a scan image of the baby held by Amy, Toby, and Bonnie.

Amy captioned the post: “Smith/Walsh baby 2.0 incoming 2026,” and was quickly flooded with congratulatory messages.

Her Emmerdale co-star Isabel Hodgins, who is also expecting, wrote: “Gorgeous! ! ! ! ! So happy for you.” Michelle Hardwick added: “So exciting,” while Samantha Giles commented: “So excited the news is finally out.”
