Coronation Street’s Megan has been grooming 15-year-old Will for months – but what is the real age of the actress who plays her?

Coronation Street newcomer Beth Nixon is at the centre of a troubling grooming storyline, leaving viewers curious about the real age of the actress behind the role.
Beth made her debut on the ITV soap earlier this year, playing athletics coach to teenager Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).
Will moved from Hull to Weatherfield with his father Ben (Aaron McCusker), his grandmother Maggie (Pauline McLynn) and his dad’s partner Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley).
It was later revealed that Beth has been grooming 15-year-old Will for months prior to the move. Their secret relationship has gone unnoticed, with Will’s family unaware of Beth’s true motives.

In recent episodes, Megan has relocated to the cobbles and landed a job at Weatherfield High School. She has also struck up a relationship with fellow teacher Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), which has left Will upset and jealous, according to the Mirror.
After Will marked his 16th birthday last week, Megan slept with him and only just avoided being caught by Ben and Will’s brother Ollie (Raphael Akuwudik). She also spent Christmas Day with Will and his family at the Rovers.

As for Beth, the actress behind the role, Coronation Street marks her television debut, coming four years after finishing college. The newcomer celebrated her 25th birthday in July, marking the milestone with a post on Instagram.
Previously speaking to Metro, Beth—who plays Megan—said: “Megan is very calculated. Everything she does is deliberate, but she’s extremely good at concealing it. She’s deeply insecure, yet she hides that too. On the surface, she comes across as confident and charismatic; she charms people, makes them feel sorry for her, and wins them over.”

“She’s slowly embedding herself into this family, almost like a parasite. But as an actor, it’s important for me to find her humanity and present her as a fully formed character. She isn’t one-dimensional or simply ‘evil.’
Beth added: “There’s so much more happening beneath the surface — all the life experiences she’s been through that have brought her to this point. The audience doesn’t know, the other characters don’t know, but she does. Those unseen layers are things I’ve worked out as part of my preparation.”
