“Since his debut on the ITV soap this week, Coronation Street newcomer Dr Vincent Harper has sparked plenty of fan discussion.”
Dr Vincent Harper made his Coronation Street debut this week, recruited by Weatherfield Hospital to perform a complex surgery on Shona Platt to save her unborn daughter, who had a mass on her neck.
During the operation, Dr Harper had to perform a tracheostomy to help the baby breathe after difficulties with the original tube. Thankfully, both Shona and her newborn were stable following the procedure.
While it hasn’t been confirmed whether surgeon Vincent Harper will return to the soap, fans are already speculating. One recent theory suggests he may have a connection to the late Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), given how much he seems to know about the late vicar.
Vincent Harper is played by John Hollingworth, a seasoned television actor with an extensive career. From 2015 to 2017, he portrayed Captain Henshawe in the BBC drama Poldark. He also appeared alongside Martin Clunes in Doc Martin from 2011 to 2017, playing Professor Sam Bradman.
His credits also include roles in Call the Midwife and Mr Bates vs The Post Office. Crossing over to Hollywood, John appeared in the 2017 blockbuster Transformers: The Last Knight, portraying Tristan.
