It was a dramatic Christmas in Weatherfield, with one family shattered by a shocking revelation and another resident left for dead following a sinister attack

A Coronation Street favourite has been left in a life-or-death struggle following a vicious Christmas Day attack.
Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) was discovered collapsed in a ginnel and left for dead at the close of Thursday’s hour-long episode (December 25), which is now available to stream on ITVX.
Earlier in the episode, the festive celebrations began with a furious Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) watching Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) exchange gifts, while Daniel and Bertie Osbourne (Rufus Morgan-Smith) stopped by the pub with a present for Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon).
Maggie then insisted that Daniel and Bertie stay for lunch, forcing her grandson Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) to hide his anger. Viewers are aware that the teenager is secretly involved in an illicit relationship with his blonde school teacher.

Elsewhere, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) gifted Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) a necklace and confessed his love before suggesting they take the next step and move in together.
Later on, a visibly shaken Eva was seen frantically searching through her bag as she told Adam that the letter he had encouraged her to write to her and Ben’s unborn child — whom she secretly terminated — had gone missing.
Adam had previously advised Eva to put her feelings down on paper as a way of coping, and she had followed his suggestion.
As Adam reached for Eva’s hand in an attempt to comfort her, Ben walked in and noticed their closeness, leaving him furious.
Meanwhile, as the Driscolls and their guests gathered for dinner at the Rovers, Maggie fixed Eva with a deadly glare, while Will glared across the table at Daniel, barely hiding his anger.

After Christmas lunch ended, Maggie distributed the Secret Santa gifts, and Ben opened Eva’s letter to their unborn baby, leaving her completely distraught.
Eva was furious when she realised her mother-in-law Maggie was responsible for exposing the letter, sparking chaos as Ben and Adam came to blows, while Daniel and Will repeatedly clashed.
Will’s jealousy intensified when he discovered that Daniel had booked a romantic getaway for Megan. As Daniel and Bertie left the pub, the teacher cruelly labelled Will a “weirdo,” comparing him to his grandmother.
Before the episode concluded, Daniel was shown lying unconscious, leaving viewers questioning whether Will is behind the attack — or if a major twist is yet to be revealed.
