“Coronation Street’s Carl Webster has experienced plenty of romances on the cobbles, and spoilers have now revealed who his next love interest will be.”

Coronation Street troublemaker Carl Webster is set for another romance on the cobbles, and fans may not be happy about it.
Carl (Jonathan Howard) made his debut last year as the estranged brother of Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and Debbie (Sue Devaney), and it didn’t take long for him to stir up drama.
The Weatherfield lothario has been involved with several residents since his arrival, including James Bailey (Jason Callender) and even Kevin’s wife, Abi (Sally Carman).
Carl and Abi’s affair eventually came to light, leaving Kevin heartbroken. On top of that, Carl also stole money from Debbie’s business while she was battling dementia.

Recently, Abi discovered all of Carl’s lies and deceit and ended their relationship. However, Carl hit a new low this month by making it seem as though Debbie was responsible for the car that caused a multi-vehicle pile-up in Corriedale.
In Thursday’s episode (January 15), Debbie appeared in court after being charged over the crash, pleading guilty and leaving her family in shock.
With plenty more drama expected on the cobbles, spoilers now suggest that Carl could be heading for yet another romance in Weatherfield.

In episodes set to air on Friday, 23 January, Carl stops by the café and quickly strikes up a conversation with newcomer Jodie (Olivia Frances Brown), who is helping out while Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) visits the wholesalers.
As Carl and Jodie share a flirtatious chat, Abi watches from afar and later warns Jodie about her troublesome ex. Fans will recall that Jodie made her soap debut during the Corriedale storyline, and it was later revealed that she is the estranged half-sister of Shona Platt (Julia Goulding).

Speaking about Jodie on Coronation Street, producer Kate Brooks recently explained that they felt it was the right moment to “explore and unpack a bit of Shona’s backstory, and that’s where Jodie comes in.”
She added: “She’s a complex character and comes with quite a lot of baggage, if you will, and her relationship with Shona as sisters is very fraught. They share a long history, with some deep-rooted resentment, but at the end of the day, they do love each other.”
