“Coronation Street confirms Carla Connor’s exit after 19 years, leaving fans devastated.”

Posted on December 24, 2025

“Coronation Street has released a concerning update about Carla Connor.”

Coronation Street delivered a shocking twist in Wednesday’s Christmas Eve episode.

Fans will remember that Carla Connor was recently left devastated when Lisa Swain’s late ex-wife, Becky Swain, appeared to have returned from the dead.

Becky had been presumed dead in 2021, and in her absence, Lisa had moved on, starting a relationship with Carla. The couple had even purchased a home together to raise Lisa’s daughter, Betsy Swain, as a family.

However, earlier this year, Becky, a fellow police officer, made a dramatic return, revealing she had not died but had been in hiding all along.

It didn’t take long for Becky to interfere in Lisa and Carla’s relationship, secretly plotting to reclaim her family. After moving in and making a series of manipulative moves, Carla decided to end her relationship with Lisa, leaving both women heartbroken.

Amid her heartbreak, Carla chose to leave Weatherfield over the festive period, taking a last-minute solo trip to Lanzarote.

Since then, she has been sending Lisa blunt messages, urging her to move on and even to remove her name from the mortgage, which has left Lisa even more devastated.

In Wednesday’s episode, Becky once again manipulated Lisa, sharing a heated moment with her before heading upstairs. Becky was thrilled, believing this meant they were reconciled. However, after their passionate afternoon, Lisa sent an emotional voice message to Carla.

Lisa said: “Hey, Carla, it’s me. It’s Christmas Eve, babe. I can’t stop thinking about you. I want you, I want you back in my life, and I’ll do whatever it takes to get you back… it’s always been you. I love you.”

Carla’s reply came quickly, saying, “Sorry, just turned my phone back on,” before adding, “We both need to move on.”

However, the camera revealed that the second message had actually been typed by Becky, who is secretly holding Carla hostage and has her phone. This means Carla never went to Lanzarote, and all the messages Lisa received were from Becky.

After hearing Lisa’s voice note meant for Carla, a furious Becky kicked Carla, who was tied up and locked in a closet.

Could this be the end of Carla after 19 years on the cobbles, or will Lisa uncover the truth in time to save her?
