“Fans of Coronation Street and Emmerdale are getting a sneak peek at new soap pairings ahead of the crossover.”

ITV bosses announced earlier this year that there would be a landmark crossover episode, bringing together the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale for the first time in a special hour-long event called Corriedale.
The episode now has a confirmed air date and will be broadcast on ITV on Monday, 5 January at 8pm. It will also kick off ITV’s new “soap power hour” schedule, pairing Coronation Street and Emmerdale back-to-back.
There’s more exciting news for soap fans: on Friday, 19 December, the Corriedale team released a special one-off feature on YouTube.
Countdown to Corriedale is a warm, nostalgic, and laughter-filled look back at the biggest moments from Coronation Street and Emmerdale over the years.
The special sees stars from both soaps come together to relive the drama, romance, and jaw-dropping twists that have defined their shows—all leading up to the unmissable Corriedale crossover event.

A synopsis teases: “Countdown to Corriedale brings together two of Britain’s most beloved TV families for a one-off celebration of soap history.
“In this 30-minute special, four pairs of cast members—one from Coronation Street and one from Emmerdale—settle onto some of the most iconic sets from both shows to watch and react to legendary moments from the archives.
“Through their banter, behind-the-scenes memories, and shared reactions, viewers will be reminded why these soaps have captured hearts for generations, while newcomers get a crash course in all the moments they’ve missed.”
For the special, Countdown to Corriedale will pair Coronation Street’s Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain, with Emmerdale’s Bradley Riches, who portrays Lewis Barton.

Emmerdale’s Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle, will be paired with Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley, who portrays Eva Price, while Emmerdale’s Shebz Miah, playing Kammy Hadiq, has been teamed up with Coronation Street’s Mollie Gallagher, who plays Nina Lucas.
Rounding out the pairings are Coronation Street’s Mikey North, who plays Gary Windass, and Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh, who portrays Tracy Metcalfe. The clips the cast will react to include dramatic moments such as Emmerdale’s plane crash and Coronation Street’s tram crash.
Meanwhile, DS Lisa Swain, played by Vicky Myers, and Aaron Dingle, played by Danny Miller, have been confirmed as the first two iconic characters to appear in the drama-filled, hour-long Corriedale special.
It was revealed that the actors filmed their scenes during thrilling night shoots. What events will bring Lisa and Aaron together on a dark and ominous night in January?

ITV has released a dramatic teaser trailer, giving viewers an explosive first look at the Corriedale episode. At the centre of the action is a multi-vehicle pile-up that brings the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale together for one night only. The atmospheric trailer shows the aftermath of the crash on a dark, stormy country road near the village of Hotten.
Desperate voices call out for help as emergency services arrive. Fans of both soaps will recognise characters including David Platt, Tracy Barlow, Liam Cavanagh, and Aaron Dingle.
Coronation Street actors Jack P. Shepherd and Kate Ford, along with Emmerdale’s Johnny McPherson, join Danny Miller and Vicky Myers among the cast confirmed for the hour-long special.
Four soap pairings have also been revealed: Nicola King with Roy Cropper, Ross Barton with Tracy Barlow, Charity Dingle with Carla Connor, and Sam Dingle with Kirk Sutherland. All duos filmed their scenes at a confidential location.
Starting 1 January, fans will have the chance to vote on which one of these scenes will be included in the highly anticipated Corriedale episode.
