ITV’s Coronation Street has brought in a former Emmerdale star for a major new role as Shona’s father
ITV soap Coronation Street has brought in a 90s Emmerdale favourite for a major new storyline.
Steve Evets, who played Tom Shepherd on Emmerdale during the 1990s, is set to join the cobbles as the father of Shona and Jodie.
Fans have been eagerly speculating about the identity of the sisters’ authoritative dad, with some even joking that he could be Graham Foster from Emmerdale.
Graham appeared in the Corriedale crossover episode as the character who had kidnapped Jodie on behalf of a mysterious wealthy figure. However, it has now been confirmed that Graham is not their father.
In upcoming scenes, Shona becomes suspicious that Jodie is hiding something and decides to follow her to a psychiatric facility.
There, Jodie emotionally introduces their confused, estranged father, explaining that she was left to care for him after their mother abandoned them.
Shona is touched and reassures Jodie that she is now part of the family. However, the story takes a darker turn as Jodie becomes intent on taking over Shona’s life in a Single White Female-style plot.
The dramatic events are set to kick off next week as Shona struggles with the demands of baby Harper and the pressures of daily life.
An exhausted Shona loses her patience with Lily over her fixation on a limited-edition water bottle, leading David to suggest she take the afternoon off.
When Shona mentions that she’s considering visiting their father, Jodie manipulates her into going out for the evening instead. Later, at the Bistro, Shona lashes out at Carl for flirting with Jodie, who pretends to be in tears.
After getting Shona drunk, the cunning Jodie calls David to help carry his intoxicated wife to bed. Once Shona is settled, Jodie convinces David to spend more time with her by suggesting they watch a film together.
Later in the week, Jodie makes David a hot breakfast before sending him off to work.
But once he leaves and she begins tidying the house, Jodie smashes David and Shona’s wedding photo — leaving viewers wondering: is Shona in danger, or should David be more concerned?
