“Thursday’s episode of Coronation Street featured a major twist for Bernie Winter.”

Coronation Street spoilers reveal what’s next for Bernie Winter following Thursday’s episode.
Recently, Roy Cropper has developed a “strong bond” with a woman named Alice. As part of a pen pal scheme, Roy had been corresponding with prisoners and began writing to Alice, whose son is behind bars.
In a recent twist, Roy was shocked to notice one of Alice’s letters carried “distinctly romantic undertones.” But it soon became clear that Alice isn’t exactly who she seems.
In Thursday’s episode, a man in his fifties arrived at the café and introduced himself as Mal, claiming to be Alice’s husband. A stunned Roy struggled to explain, leaving Mal upset. He revealed that he and Alice had been married for 31 years and had three children before storming out of the café after punching Roy.

After a row with her husband Dev Alahan, during which she vented her grief on him, Bernie Winter decided to blow off some steam with a girls’ night out.
She started the evening with several shots and initially said she was heading home. However, at the Chariot Square bar, she got distracted and continued drinking heavily.
At that point, Alice’s husband Mal arrived and, after introducing himself, revealed that his wife had been having an affair.
Meanwhile, Bernie opened up to Mal about the deaths of her son Paul and son-in-law Billy, reflecting on the love the late couple shared. When Ryan Connor suggested they’d had enough and asked them to leave, Mal invited Bernie to his room to help empty the mini bar and keep the party going.

In Mal’s room, Bernie and he took drugs and partied. When Mal made a move on her, Bernie rejected him and went to the bathroom. After returning, she broke down, talking about her struggles and perceived failures as a mother.
Later, Ryan arrived at the room to make a noise complaint, but Bernie insisted nothing inappropriate had happened. The episode ended with a mysterious scene of Bernie passed out in a club toilet, leaving viewers unsure how she got there or what occurred beforehand.
Spoilers reveal that the following day, when Bernie doesn’t show up, Dev and her family grow concerned—especially since it’s her grandson Brody’s birthday and party.
As the family prepares to leave, a dishevelled Bernie arrives home. Outside No. 4, she admits to Gemma that she messed up the previous night. But her confession is cut short when she turns and sees Mal approaching—leaving everyone wondering what happened and what he wants.

In next week’s spoilers, things get even more complicated when Mal arrives to start work as an electrician in Roy’s flat, leaving Bernie clearly uneasy.
Bernie suggests a cheaper electrician to Roy, but he declines, feeling partly responsible for the breakdown of Mal’s marriage. Later, Dev and Bernie run into Mal at the Rovers.
Bernie quietly speaks with Mal, who promises to keep their secret and says he’ll leave once his job at Roy’s is complete. Later in the week, Mal enters the café to find Bernie struggling with the lunchtime rush. When he offers to lend a hand, she hesitantly accepts—leaving viewers wondering if this is the last we’ll see of Mal and what his true intentions are.
