Andy first rose to fame when he joined the ITV soap in 2000 as Kirk Sutherland, the brother of Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon). It didn’t take long for him to win over viewers’ hearts.
Known for his quick wit and lovable personality, Kirk has been involved in numerous major storylines during his time on the cobbles.
From his turbulent romance with Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine) to his relationship with Beth Tinker (Lisa George), which eventually ended, Kirk’s journey in Weatherfield has been full of drama and excitement.
Off-screen, Andy Whyment enjoys married life with his wife Nicola, whom he tied the knot with in 2007. The couple are parents to two children, son Thomas and daughter Hollie, according to the Mirror.
Recently, Andy delighted fans by sharing a peek into his family holiday. On Instagram, he posted a series of photos from his cruise, captioning them: “Had the most amazing time celebrating New Year 2026 onboard @msccruisesofficial World Europa making more memories.”
Fans were quick to react to Andy’s update, with one writing: “Love these! So glad you enjoyed the cruise.” Another added: “Beautiful family.” A third commented: “Looks like you had an amazing time.”
Speaking about their relationship, Andy previously told OK! Magazine: “I had a crush on Nic for a while, but nothing happened at first.”
“Then we got together one night, and it didn’t take long before I knew she was the one I wanted to be with. I said in my wedding speech that you just know when you meet the one, and that’s true.”
A devoted family man, Andy also admitted that his time on I’m A Celebrity helped him fully appreciate just how much he loved and missed his wife and children.
“I didn’t really learn many new things about myself, apart from being able to handle jungle life,” he confessed. “But it did make me realise just how much I love my family.”
