“Coronation Street’s Theo actor James Cartwright has spoken out about a family heartbreak.”

Coronation Street’s Theo Silverton actor James Cartwright has opened up about his personal anguish, admitting that this festive season will “feel empty.”
James joined the ITV soap earlier this year as Theo Silverton, introduced as a new love interest for Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), with an instant spark forming between the pair.
However, Theo’s darker side soon came to light, as he began manipulating and controlling Todd over a period of months, attempting to dominate every aspect of his life. Fearing what his partner was capable of, Todd secretly installed surveillance devices throughout their home.
This month also saw a groundbreaking special episode told entirely through recorded footage, including Todd’s hidden cameras, CCTV, dashcam recordings, video doorbells and police body-worn cameras.

Away from his soap role, James recently spoke about losing three much-loved family members and how the bereavements will impact his Christmas celebrations, according to the Mirror.
“Very sadly, this year we’ve lost both our dogs,” he told Metro. He went on to say: “And last year we lost my grandad, who was my best friend, just before Christmas. The house will feel very empty, so to deal with that, we’re going out for Christmas dinner for the first time ever.”

Explaining his Christmas plans, James said: “We’ll wake up together as a family, open our presents, get dressed up in our best suits, and then head out for a meal.
“Mum will have an eggnog, Dad will stick to sparkling water, and my brother, sister and I will probably get a bit giddy on buzzballs.”
The TV star also reflected fondly on Christmas memories with his grandad, sharing: “My favourite moments are from when my lovely grandad was still with us. For me, those were the best Christmases, with a full table and lots of laughter.”

Following James’s moving account of his triple family loss, fans took to Facebook to share their condolences. One person commented, “I’m so sorry for your loss,” while another wrote, “That’s so sad.”
It has also emerged that show business runs in James’s family, as his father is the acclaimed writer and dramatist Jim Cartwright. Jim has built an impressive career, best known for his 1992 play The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, which was later adapted into a 1998 film starring Jane Horrocks and Michael Caine.
Over the years, James has worked alongside his celebrated father on several occasions. In 2009, he appeared in the West End revival of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, taking on the role of Billy.
