Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien receives a flood of praise after revealing her new look
Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien has wowed fans with her recent “stunning” makeover. The 42-year-old actress, best known for playing Sarah Platt on the long-running ITV soap, also appeared on Waterloo Road in 2010.
Tina first appeared on the cobbles in 1999, at just sixteen, taking over from Lynsay King to portray Sarah. She left the show in 2007, only to return in 2015, this time alongside her teenage daughter Bethany (played by Lucy Fallon).
Over the years, Sarah has been at the heart of countless memorable storylines — from her surprise teenage pregnancy with Bethany, the tragic loss of her baby Billy with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), surviving a near-fatal accident with Aiden Critchley (Dean Ashton), to her stormy relationship with criminal Callum Logan (Sean Ward).
Tina’s performance during the teenage pregnancy storyline in 2000 earned her Best Newcomer at both the National Television Awards and the TV Quick Awards, while the plot itself won Best Storyline at the British Soap Awards that same year, reports the Mirror.
Tina O’Brien has revealed a striking new look on social media, leaving her fans amazed. Over the weekend, Cheshire-based brow specialist Sarah Harley shared a collaborative post on Tina’s Instagram account.
Sarah posted a photo of herself with a radiant Tina, highlighting her freshly transformed brows, along with a video of the process. She captioned it:
“FINALLY got the BEAUTIFUL @tinaob83 in the clinic for some brand new Ombre Brows.
“What a dream she is — I absolutely loved working on this transformation. These are fresh off the needle and will soften as they heal. Cannot WAIT to see them healed. Thank you for trusting me. The POWER of the brows.”
Tina replied in the comments:
“Absolutely love them, thank you @brows_by_sarah_ — such a gorgeous time with you.”
Several Coronation Street co-stars also chimed in with praise. Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby) wrote: “Perfectly balanced and gorgeous,” while Sally Carman (Abi Webster) exclaimed: “Come on!!! Absolutely STUNNING.”
Fans flooded the comments to shower Tina with praise. One wrote: “Absolutely stunning,” while another gushed: “LOVE!!!! These brows will take the glam to the next level.” A third added: “Feminine perfection ❤️.”
Others echoed the admiration, with one fan saying: “She literally doesn’t age,” another commenting: “Loving your brows, Tina, looks amazing!” and a sixth proclaiming: “Jesus, you don’t age a bit! A total babe.”
On-screen, Tina’s character Sarah Platt has been through a turbulent time on the cobbles. Her brother David (Jack P. Shepherd) and his wife Shona (Julia Goulding) recently welcomed their daughter Harper after a difficult pregnancy complicated by a cancerous tumour on Shona’s neck. She remains in intensive care.
Meanwhile, Sarah’s boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) became caught up in Becky Swain’s (Amy Cudden) plot to take her wife and daughter, Lisa (Vicky Myers) and Betsy (Sydney Martin), overseas. With Sarah’s help, Kit tracked down Carla Connor (Alison King) after Becky abducted her just before the Corriedale crossover. The corrupt officer is now behind bars.
