EastEnders viewers believe one of Walford’s icons is set to leave the BBC soap for good after 25 years

EastEnders fans are speculating that a much-loved character could be preparing to leave Albert Square permanently.
The fallout from the dramatic events on Christmas Day continues to ripple through Walford, as the investigation into the murder of Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) gathers pace. Following a fierce confrontation with Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) that left Anthony with a head injury, he was later discovered dead by Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).
Convinced she had accidentally killed her former lover during the struggle, a distraught Zoe handed herself in to the police and remains behind bars.
However, revelations that Anthony actually died from a second blow led Kat to suspect that the infamous Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) had framed Zoe for the killing.

In an unexpected twist, Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) was revealed to be Zoe’s long-lost daughter and the true killer of Anthony. It emerged last week that Jasmine murdered her father after witnessing him attack Zoe at The Queen Vic, according to OK!.
She recorded the incident on her mobile phone and was still in possession of the damning footage when she later visited Anthony at the chapel of rest.
On Monday (January 19), a determined Kat convinced Jasmine to visit Zoe in prison, hoping the meeting would pressure Chrissie into confessing her role in Anthony’s death.
Kat was emotional as she reunited with Zoe, but it soon became clear that Zoe’s solicitor, Ritchie, had advised her to plead guilty to manslaughter in the hope of receiving a reduced sentence.

Kat struggled to come to terms with the shocking revelation and insisted they needed to alert the police about Chrissie’s return to protect Zoe. Jasmine, however, hesitated to betray Chrissie, warning that she remains a dangerous threat.
Shortly after, Jasmine revealed her plan to leave Walford and asked her boyfriend, Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier), to make a sudden exit with her.
Following Zoe’s confession, EastEnders fans are now convinced she will face prison for Anthony’s murder, marking a permanent exit from the BBC soap.

Heading to X, one fan tweeted: “#EastEnders Zoe is writing herself out of the show,” while another added: “Zoe pleading guilty. Another Square resident behind bars #EastEnders.”
A third chimed in: “If Zoe pleads guilty, it won’t end well for her given her past #EastEnders.”
“NO WAY ZOE IS GOING TO JAIL FOR SOMETHING SHE DIDN’T EVEN DO #EastEnders,” exclaimed another viewer.
