A Walford resident’s safety was thrown into doubt on Monday as a deadly motive came to light in EastEnders

EastEnders has revealed a dangerous link between Mark Fowler and another Walford resident following his return with a battered face.
In Thursday’s BBC soap episode (January 22), Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) was preparing to whisk his friend Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) off to Portugal without his wife Julie’s (Karen Henthorn) knowledge. Phil had made the decision after refusing to place Nigel in a care facility as his dementia worsened.
However, plans for the Portuguese trip were derailed when Mark Fowler Jr. (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) showed up at Phil’s doorstep with injuries from a recent beating.
By Monday (January 26), the reasons behind Mark’s return to Walford after ten years away began to come to light.

Initially, Mark misled his half-sister Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig), claiming his cuts and bruises were the result of a random attack. He also suggested that he had returned to support Vicki during her upcoming trial against Joel Marshall (Max Murray) and publicly confronted Ross (Alex Walkinshaw) for failing to protect Vicki from his son’s violent assault, according to OK!.
Later in the episode, Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) and Phil questioned their nephew Mark, who admitted his involvement in a drug operation. He explained that his injuries came after dangerous criminals suspected he had been passing information to the police.
Mark pleaded with Phil to clear his name, revealing that he had been deliberately planting false information within several criminal operations to see which details were being leaked to the authorities.

In a shocking twist, Mark traced the suspicious information back to Walford, and while sharing his concerns with Phil, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) appeared on the scene. Mark then issued a chilling warning, declaring the alleged informant a “dead man.”
As loyal viewers will remember, Ravi became a police informant after abducting Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) and Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) and forcing them to traffic drugs. To avoid repercussions, he agreed to operate covertly within the criminal underworld while providing intelligence to Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).

EastEnders fans are now convinced that Ravi could face deadly consequences from the gangster crew after betraying the authorities.
On X, one viewer wrote: “Oh Ravi (crying face) #EastEnders,” while another commented: “I’m getting the feeling Ravi is going to meet the same fate as Paul Trueman #EastEnders.”
“Ravi mate, you’re a dead man #EastEnders,” added one fan, while another pleaded: “They better not kill off #Ravi! (angry face) #EastEnders.”
“One fan wrote: ‘Ohhhhhh, things just keep going from bad to worse for Ravi #EastEnders,’” while another added in shock: “Mark is involved with the same crew as Ravi.”
