“EastEnders viewers have finally discovered what really happened to Anthony Trueman on Christmas Day, leading to his death as a Walford resident’s true colors were revealed.”

The truth behind Anthony Trueman’s shocking Christmas Day death has finally come to light.
EastEnders fans saw the Walford doctor killed off in a dramatic twist during the festive period. His former lover, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), is currently in prison, accused of his murder, while her mother, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), has traveled to Corfu in search of Chrissie Watts (Tracy Ann Oberman), whom she believes is responsible.
However, during Thursday’s (January 15) episode, now available on BBC iPlayer, viewers discovered who actually committed the crime.
Earlier in the week, Anthony’s father, Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), was informed by the funeral director that he would soon be able to see his son’s body.
Patrick attempted to reconcile with his estranged granddaughter, Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness), but she quickly left when the conversation turned to Anthony’s funeral arrangements.

In the latest episode, Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) left Jasmine a worried voicemail, having not heard from her since the previous day.
Jasmine was later seen returning to Walford atop a milk truck, still visibly drunk. Eager to keep Patrick in the dark about her behaviour, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) tracked her down in the café and promised to sober her up—but Jasmine ran off again.
While watching a mysterious video on her phone, Jasmine struck up a flirtatious conversation with Zack Hudson (James Farrar). Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) intervened, urging her to stop mistreating Patrick and steering her away from trouble.

When Jasmine said she felt she didn’t belong in the family, Chelsea revealed that Anthony was far from perfect. Refusing to go into details, Chelsea’s comments prompted Jasmine to storm over to No.20 to confront the family about her father.
Patrick then admitted the truth, telling Jasmine that Anthony had been controlling, that his ex-wife had taken out a restraining order to protect herself and the children, and that he had been obsessively fixated on Zoe.
Furious, Jasmine left for the café, with Patrick following shortly after to explain more. He acknowledged Anthony’s troubling behaviour but insisted that, despite his flaws, he still believed his son was a good man.
As a result, Jasmine had a change of heart and agreed to join the family at the chapel of rest to see Anthony. After sharing an emotional farewell together, Jasmine asked for a few moments alone with her late father.

Once alone, Jasmine’s demeanor shifted as she took out her phone and played a video she had filmed on Christmas Day, showing Anthony attacking Zoe in The Vic. The footage captured a heated confrontation that ended with Anthony collapsing to the floor, revealing that Jasmine was responsible for his death.
“You could have killed her, but I stopped you. It’s nice to finally meet you, Dad. Now rot in hell,” Jasmine told Anthony’s body.
Will Jasmine’s true nature now come to light, and could she help secure her mother Zoe’s release from prison?
