Lacey Turner took to Instagram to celebrate her son Trilby’s fifth birthday with an emotional message
EastEnders star Lacey Turner has given fans a heartfelt insight into her personal life following her exit from the popular BBC One soap.
The 37-year-old actress said goodbye to Albert Square in October when her character, Stacey Slater, left Walford for Brazil, taking her two youngest children, Arthur and Hope, with her for a fresh start.
Stacey’s departure storyline saw her grappling with the devastating loss of Martin Fowler (James Bye), who tragically died in The Queen Vic explosion in February 2025.
Lacey’s exit from the show appears to be temporary, with an EastEnders spokesperson confirming at the time: “We can confirm that Lacey will be off-screen later this year.”
“But there is plenty more drama to come beforehand, and we will look forward to planning Stacey’s return when Lacey decides the time is right,” OK! reports.
During her break from the soap, Lacey treated fans on Tuesday by celebrating her son Trilby’s birthday.
The actress shares three children — Dusty, Trilby, and Gipsy — with her husband, Matt Kay.
Posting to Instagram via her children’s account, @thekayoskids, Lacey wrote: “5 years old today! Happy birthday Trilby Chops #happy #happybirthday #birthday #celebrate #love.”
Fans were quick to flood the comments with birthday wishes. One wrote: “Happy birthday little man! Hope he had a fab day xx,” while another added: “Aww, great video! Happy Birthday Trilby xx.”

Meanwhile, Lacey shared her own touching tribute on Instagram, writing:
“FIVE. Happy birthday, mate!
