Kim Tate finally discovers the truth about what happened to her beloved horse Ice, resulting in Lydia Dingle being fired from her Home Farm job just before Christmas.

An Emmerdale favourite has found herself out of work just days before Christmas.
Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) was left stunned in recent scenes of the ITV soap when her employer, Kim Tate (Claire King), revealed she was leaving Home Farm in her will.
Last week, Kim and her horse Ice were involved in a serious accident while she was investigating reports of illegal shooting on her property. As Kim recovers from her injuries, even worse news came for Ice: professionals confirmed that his injuries were terminal, and Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) felt he had no choice but to have the horse euthanised. Heartbroken, Kim lashed out at Joe for making the decision without consulting her.
Meanwhile, Lydia was overwhelmed with guilt, knowing that her husband, Sam Dingle (James Hooton), had organised the illegal shoot in an attempt to raise money for the Dingle family.

She had helped him by keeping Kim distracted, partly out of anger toward Kim at the time—but what Lydia didn’t know was that Kim had been planning a surprise visit from Lydia’s idol, Jason Donovan, just for her.
Lydia’s guilt only deepened when Kim named her as a major beneficiary in her will, prompting her to confess about the money-making scheme she and Sam had orchestrated, which ultimately led to Ice’s death. This unfolded during Friday’s (December 19) episode, now available to stream on ITVX.
Kim confronted them sharply: “You betrayed me. Your employment here is over—now get out of my sight.” As Sam walked away, Kim turned to Lydia: “I may have expected it from him, but I thought you were my friend.”
A remorseful Lydia replied, “I’m so sorry.”
Kim shot back, “Sorry? Just words…more lies. After everything I’ve done for you. If you ever needed something, you only had to ask. I thought you knew that.”

Lydia admitted, “I don’t have any excuses,” as Kim reminded her, “You know what this place means to me. I thought you understood. Everything I’ve ever worked for, everything I’ve loved… I was ready to give it all to you.”
Worried, Lydia asked, “Just tell me what I need to do to make things right.” Kim replied firmly, “There’s nothing you can do to make things like they were. I’ve made this mistake before, and I’m never going to trust anyone again after this. You’re sacked. I never want to see you up here again.”
Choked with emotion, Lydia insisted, “You’re right, it’s just words, but you’ll never know how sorry I am… how much I wish this had never happened.” As she turned to leave, Kim said, “Oh, Lydia, I really wanted to believe you were different from the rest.”
