Emmerdale revisited past events in Friday’s Boxing Day episode
Emmerdale viewers were left emotional on Friday’s Boxing Day episode as the ITV soap delivered a major update on a “forgotten” character.
In the latest installment, Kerry Wyatt dropped by to visit Mackenzie Boyd, sharing a festive family update that left the Scottish farmer and mechanic overjoyed.
Fans will remember that Mack had a brief fling with Chloe Harris following a short separation from Charity Dingle, which led to Chloe becoming pregnant with Mack’s child.
Chloe later gave birth to a baby boy named Reuben, and when Charity discovered the truth, it devastated her and ultimately shattered her marriage to Mack.
In later scenes, Chloe’s gangster father, Damon, took Mack hostage. During the struggle to wrest the gun from Damon and save Mack, Charity accidentally shot and killed him.
When the police arrived, Chloe told Mack she would claim that Charity acted in self-defense—on the condition that he give up Reuben and allow her to move to France.
Although Mack was hesitant at first, he eventually agreed to let Reuben go for Charity’s sake. Chloe then left the village with her son, leaving Mack heartbroken over losing him. The pair were last seen on Emmerdale in 2023.
In Friday’s Boxing Day episode, Kerry—Chloe’s biological mother who gave her up for adoption as a baby—shared some updates on Mack’s son.
Mack was overwhelmed, exclaiming, “Wow, look at him, he’s so big! A proper little lad!” as he looked at photos of the boy opening his presents.
When Mack asked if he could keep the pictures, Kerry agreed and revealed that she didn’t plan on telling Chloe.
Kerry told Mack, “It’s Christmas, you’re his dad, and you deserve to know how he’s doing…”
Mack replied, “That means the world, it’s amazing, thank you.”
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one fan wrote, “Mack got to see pics of Reuben #emmerdale” with a crying emoji, while another added, “Reuben looks so cute, that’s sweet of Kerry!”
