“Emmerdale exit confirmed after 21 years as John Sugden’s true killer is finally unveiled.”

Posted on January 7, 2026

“The fallout from the Corriedale crash continued on Tuesday, as the truth behind a shocking death came to light.”

Emmerdale fans are convinced they know Victoria Sugden’s fate after she confessed to killing her own brother — and it doesn’t look good.

In Monday’s explosive Corriedale episode (January 5), John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) reign of terror came to a dramatic end, with Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) shown standing over his lifeless body in the woods.

The events leading up to John’s murder had been kept secret, but Emmerdale revealed the full story on Tuesday in a surprising twist.

News of John’s sudden death began to spread, yet Victoria seemed uneasy, struggling to process what had happened and choosing to stay silent.

Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) suspects that his new fiancé, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), is hiding something about John’s death, while a tense Victoria is pushed to her breaking point.

With a look of shock, Victoria confronted the couple: “Will you just stop it?! It wasn’t Robert — he didn’t do it. It was me. I killed him. I killed John…”

A series of flashbacks then revealed a terrifying confrontation between Victoria and John after she went to the crash site, having learned about the incident from Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano).

It also came to light that John had previously drugged Victoria at home and attempted the same on Harry, vowing to return later that night.

When the siblings finally met in the woods, John forced Victoria to the ground as she screamed for help. Acting in self-defence, Victoria used John’s own weapon against him, injecting a syringe full of drugs into his neck.

John immediately convulsed and collapsed, echoing Nate Robinson’s death in 2024. The drama escalated further when it was revealed that Victoria and John’s confrontation had been secretly filmed by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).

Emmerdale fans are now convinced that Victoria will flee the village to avoid being held responsible for John’s death.

Away from the ITV soap, actress Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria, is expecting her first child and is set to take maternity leave from the show.
