Emmerdale actor who played Nate Robinson confirms new projects after leaving the ITV soap

Emmerdale’s Jurell Carter has revealed new TV and film projects, a year after his character was written out of the popular ITV soap.
The 33-year-old actor played Nate Robinson, Cain Dingle’s secret son, who met a tragic end at the hands of serial killer John Sugden in 2024.
During last week’s dramatic Corriedale special, Nate’s name resurfaced on the show, and the mention didn’t go unnoticed. In response, Jurell shared a throwback Instagram photo of Nate with John, captioning it: “I heard Nate made an appearance this week. Only right that I put a throwback up with his killer.”
He also reassured fans that they won’t have to wait long to see him back on screen, hinting at what could be his most significant role yet, according to The Sun.

He added: “Nate’s gone, but I filmed two projects in 2025, so I’ll be back on your screens this year and possibly on the big screen in 2027.”
It seems the actor shows no signs of slowing down. Alongside acting, he is also pursuing other ventures.
In another post, he shared: “I’ve also launched my fitness coaching page @jcartercoaching. Go follow if you want help with your body and routine.”
The Corriedale crossover saw villain John meet his demise, with his sister Victoria discovered standing over his body in a forest. This led to a flashback of Nate’s murder in September being shown to viewers, leaving them stunned at the dramatic episode.

After his shock exit from the ITV hit soap, Jurell Carter spoke about leaving the show as Nate and how it has inspired him in his career.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: “I spoke to some of my colleagues – including Eden [Taylor-Draper], who I’m close to. I remember saying, ‘As sad as it is…’”
“Knowing there’s no going back almost gives me even more reason to go full throttle outside of Emmerdale and really give it my all. Once you realise there’s no option for a potential return, you think, ‘Okay, it’s now or never. I need to go for it, full steam ahead, because there’s no safety net.’”
