Coronation Street features a variety of businesses, including the Viaduct Bistro and the corner shop.

Coronation Street has been a fixture on ITV since its very first episode in 1960. Over the decades, the cobbles have welcomed countless businesses and residents to Weatherfield.
In 2018, a fully branded Co-op store was added to the famous street, with shopping bags featured across the soap as part of a major partnership. This was later replaced by Sainsbury’s and Argos shopfronts.
Beyond these big-name brands, Weatherfield is also home to numerous independent businesses, including the Viaduct Bistro, Dev Alahan’s corner shop, Speed Daal, newsagents The Kabin, the Rovers Return Inn, florist Preston’s Petals, and Roy’s Rolls café, among others.
During a set visit in October, we were lucky enough to explore the cobbles and uncover some fascinating facts and behind-the-scenes details from Coronation Street.
1) Viaduct Bistro menu and prices

Coronation Street’s residents often treat themselves to a special meal at the Viaduct Bistro, owned by Nick Tilsley, for birthdays, date nights, or other celebrations. But how much does dining there actually cost?
Looking at the restaurant’s festive menu at the time, options included oven-baked mushrooms, beef bourguignon, and smoked haddock risotto — very fancy!
Starters ranged from £5.95 for a Caprese salad to £7.95 for oven-baked mushrooms. Among the mains, the cheapest was £14.95 for a caramelised red onion and camembert tart, while a two-bird roast topped out at £18.95.
Desserts were priced at £6.95, featuring choices such as Belgian chocolate brownie, apple and blackberry crumble, and Christmas pudding, with a vegan option available for the crumble.
2) Dev Alahan’s corner shop opening hours

Weatherfield locals are often spotted popping into Dev’s corner shop for everything from milk and biscuits to a quick tipple when times are tough.
The shop has been owned by Dev since 1999 and has seen a number of familiar faces behind the counter, from Dev’s son Aadi Alahan to Gemma Winter and Amy Barlow. More recently, Summer Spellman has been working there.
Staff at the shop face long hours and shift work, as the opening times we observed on our visit show it operates seven days a week, from 8am to 10pm — no wonder it’s called a convenience store!
3) The Kabin’s noticeboard

Newsagents The Kabin is one of the cobbles’ most iconic shops, having previously been owned by Rita Tanner, who still occasionally helps out as an assistant and lives in the flat above.
Now run by Brian Packham, the shop provides residents with newspapers, sweets, and a healthy dose of local gossip.
Viewers will be familiar with The Kabin’s noticeboard outside the shop, but during our set visit, we were able to take a closer look at all the details.
The board featured a variety of notices, including missing cats, dog-sitters wanted (for £30!), yoga classes, tutoring services, French polishing, dog grooming, cleaning, and decorating services.
It also doubled as a secondhand marketplace, with items for sale such as three pairs of gardening trousers, a handmade bird table for £20, 10 pairs of mixed underwear for £2, a double mattress for £30, and a keyboard.
4) Rent prices in Weatherfield

The Kabin’s noticeboard also offered a glimpse into rent prices in Weatherfield, and some of the details might surprise fans.
One notice advertised a fully furnished studio flat in central Weatherfield for £650 per month, with all bills included.
Another listing featured a cosy bedsit for £585 per month, which came with Wi-Fi and water charges included.
5) Webster’s Autocentre opening hours

Webster’s Autocentre is another well-known business on the cobbles, with the garage jointly owned by Kevin Webster and Tyrone Dobbs.
We were surprised to see just how close it sits to the Underworld textiles and lingerie factory — handy if a delivery van were ever to break down nearby.
Another interesting detail: the garage actually operates 24/7, with a notice on the premises advertising a “24-hour call-out” service for customers.
Here’s hoping Kevin and Tyrone don’t get too many of those late-night calls!
