General Hospital spoilers hint that Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) has never been one to hold back when it comes to honesty with her mother, Laura Collins (Genie Francis). So when Lulu stops by Laura’s office to update her on what’s developing between her and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), viewers can expect full transparency.
But what kind of response will she get in return? Laura is known as one of Port Charles’ strongest moral compasses. Will she really approve of Lulu pursuing her best friend’s husband — sort of — while that friend has been in a coma? The answer may be more surprising than expected.
“You May Have Fewer Obstacles With Nathan Than You Think”
Previews show Laura telling Lulu that she “may have fewer obstacles with Nathan” than she realizes.
That’s an intriguing take coming from someone who knows firsthand what betrayal feels like. Still, this situation isn’t exactly a straightforward case of cheating. Even so, it’s far from clear that Nathan is truly available — or that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) would be fine with him moving on with her best friend if he were.
“Fewer obstacles?” Possibly. No obstacles at all? Don’t bet on it.
GH Spoilers: Maxie Is About to Shake Things Up
Meanwhile, Kirsten Storms has reportedly returned to set, suggesting Maxie may be waking up soon — just in time to have her say on whether Lulu and Nathan’s growing connection bothers her.
More realistically, Lulu and Nathan will likely keep their feelings under wraps for now, hoping the situation resolves itself while they wait to see what Maxie decides to do with her life.
Nathan Holds the Advantage
Complicating matters further is the lingering question of Nathan’s true identity. There’s still a possibility he could be an imposter — perhaps even Peter August (Wes Ramsey) in disguise. Regardless, Nathan has far less to lose than either Lulu or Maxie.
Maxie’s world will be completely upended when she wakes to discover her late husband is alive, forcing her to choose between Nathan and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). Even if she’s emotionally moved on, that doesn’t mean she’ll be okay with Lulu stepping into her former relationship.
After all, that’s not what best friends do. Maxie could end up losing both Nathan and Lulu, while Lulu risks losing Maxie just after finally getting her back.
