General Hospital Spoilers: Maxie’s Return Puts Nathan and Spinelli in the Spotlight — Who Will Win Her Heart?
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is set to make a big return to Port Charles soon. Last week, Storms excitedly shared that she was back on set in California.
While she missed her daughter during her time in Tennessee, Maxie also missed her Port Chuck family. She had taken a break to move cross-country, joining her ex-husband in a family-wide relocation. During this period, she also disclosed that she had been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, which may or may not require surgery.
Now, Maxie is headed back to Port Charles, but fans are understandably anxious about how her storyline will unfold, given Kirsten’s own health challenges. Nevertheless, there’s a story to tell, and it begins with Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).
Pop the Question?
When Maxie first suffered a heart attack and fell unconscious, Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) stayed by her side, determined to support her. No one anticipated she would remain unconscious for long, but Spinelli had a plan: a ring in hand, ready to propose once she woke. He’s always been sure he wants to spend his life with Maxie, leaving him anxious about whether he’ll ever get the chance to ask, “Will you marry me?”
Nathan Isn’t Even Trying
The challenge for Spinelli is that Nathan’s return means he’s competing with a memory. Maxie’s recollection of Nathan is idealized, romanticized, and seemingly perfect—much more so than the real Nathan back in Port Charles. When Maxie learns he’s alive, it will stir up old emotions and tough questions.
Can she move forward with Spinelli, or is she technically still married to Nathan? Nathan’s presence alone could tug at her heart without him needing to do anything, which is what makes Spinelli nervous.
Nothing Is Simple
Maxie may choose to stay with Spinelli out of loyalty—after all, she’s already left him once when her heart wasn’t fully invested. But she’ll also have to confront lingering feelings for Nathan. Even after seven years, that love hasn’t vanished; it’s just been put on hold.
It’s possible Spinelli will take the honorable route and give Maxie the space she needs to sort out her emotions, even if she doesn’t ask for it.
