“How Old Is April in Emmerdale? Fans Shocked by Her Real Age”

Posted on February 13, 2026

“April Windsor has been a mainstay on Emmerdale for more than ten years and has featured in numerous major storylines.”

Emmerdale’s April Windsor has become a mainstay on the ITV soap — but just how old is she?

April (Amelia Flanagan) first appeared in 2014 as the daughter of Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth).

She quickly became involved in some of the soap’s biggest storylines. From the tragic death of her mother to living on the streets, April’s time in the Dales has been packed with drama.

In recent months, she faced even darker challenges, getting caught up in the dangerous world of crime, child exploitation, and drugs. Fans will remember she was groomed by the villainous Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and his mother Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths).

April managed to escape their control, and both Ray and Celia have since been killed. However, after admitting to the police the crimes she committed while under their coercion, April has spent recent weeks worrying that she could be sent to a young offenders institution.

In Thursday’s episode (February 12), DS Walsh (Amanda Ryan) visited April to deliver the official verdict. Fortunately for April, the detective informed her that she is no longer considered a suspect.

With April recently at the centre of such major storylines, fans have been curious about her age. The character of April is currently 16, born on 13th August 2009. Meanwhile, actress Amelia Flanagan is 17 and will celebrate her 18th birthday on 6th June.

When Amelia turned 17 last year, fans expressed their surprise online. One commented, “Aw, I thought she was younger—happy birthday!” Another added, “Same here! She’s definitely a talented performer.”

This comes after it was announced that Emmerdale actress Amelia Flanagan has joined the cast of an upcoming film titled The Rebooted. The movie also features Gerard Christopher (Superboy), Andrew Lee Potts (Primeval), and Martins Imhangbe (Bridgerton).

Last month, Panchariya Brothers Productions took to Instagram to share the news of Amelia’s role. They wrote:

“Meet the cast of ‘The Rebooted’ (2026), a @panchariyabrothersproductions film, written and directed by @mjrowney. The film stars Gerard Christopher (Superboy), Andrew Lee Potts (Primeval), Stephanie Waring (Hollyoaks), Wilson James (Lucky Man), Billy Downes (Lost in London), and Amelia Flanagan (Emmerdale), alongside Martins Imhangbe (Bridgerton).”
