Coronation Street newcomer Jodie Ramsey made her debut earlier this month
Coronation Street introduced newcomer Jodie Ramsey earlier this month during the special Corriedale crossover episode. In the hour-long instalment, the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale collided for one night only, with viewers discovering that returning Emmerdale favourite Graham Foster was holding Jodie captive in the back of his van.
Jodie managed to escape but injured herself while fleeing, crashing into a tree in the process. She was taken to hospital, where she crossed paths with Shona and David Platt, who had also been caught up in the dramatic Corriedale incident.
It was later revealed that Jodie had a connection to Shona, as the pair shared matching tattoos. This was eventually confirmed to be because they are estranged sisters.
With Jodie settling into life in the Platt household while concealing a number of secrets, soap viewers have been left intrigued by the cobbles newcomer and the actress behind her, Olivia Frances Brown.
Olivia, a Liverpudlian actress and singer-songwriter now based in Manchester, is engaged to This City Is Ours star James Nelson-Joyce. The couple have been together for several years and announced their engagement in 2023 through a joint social media post.
James Nelson-Joyce is best known for his role as Michael Kavanagh in This City Is Ours. His other acting credits include Mount Pleasant, Little Boy Blue, The Nest, Time, The Outlaws, Industry, The Gold, A Town Called Malice, Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, Reputation, Bird and A Thousand Blows.
Just last week, the couple shared another joint update on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into their Christmas celebrations. The post was captioned: “Merry Xmas from JNJ & OFB xxx.”
This is not Olivia’s first television role, as the actress has previously appeared in Channel 4’s The Gathering, as well as Archie and Boiling Point. She has also built a strong social media following, boasting 19.7K followers on Instagram, where her bio reads: “probably singing jazz standards somewhere.”
Olivia frequently posts videos of herself performing, regularly sharing clips from her gigs at Petit Café on Lark Lane, where she showcases her singing talent.
The actress also released her single Shade Of Red in 2025, which is available to stream on Spotify and is accompanied by an official music video.
Fans were quick to praise the track in the comments on both the song and its video. One listener wrote: “Powerful words — this girl is going to be a big star. Love her, brilliant song.” Another commented: “Wow… this is excellent,” while a different fan added: “Absolutely love this. I can see it being a soundtrack in a film — it’s amazing.” A further follower simply described her as “a superstar.”
