Is Sam quitting Coronation Street? Departure ‘confirmed’ as viewers left devastated.

Posted on February 16, 2026

As Sam Blakeman tries to uncover the truth about the sinister Megan Walsh on Coronation Street, viewers worry his actions could badly backfire on him.

Coronation Street’s Sam Blakeman could be heading for an emotional exit, fans have suggested.

Sam (Jude Riordan) arrived on the cobbles in 2020 as the secret son of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price). Since then, he’s been at the centre of several major storylines, including the devastating death of his mum, Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), who was shot by villain Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

More recently, Sam has found himself caught up in another dramatic plot after growing suspicious about the relationship between athletics coach Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) and student Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).

Viewers will remember that Megan is grooming 16-year-old Will and is expecting his baby. To hide the truth, she has also begun a romance with fellow teacher Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) in an attempt to keep suspicion away from her.

Up until now, Megan and Will’s relationship has gone undetected by his loved ones and friends. But in recent episodes, Sam began to sense that something wasn’t right between the pair, catching Megan off guard.

Determined to shut him down, Megan took a darker turn and issued a direct warning to the youngster, making it clear he should stay silent. Later this week, Sam comes close to securing the proof he needs to expose Megan’s actions, using a hidden camera to try and uncover the truth.

In a recent interview, Megan actress Beth revealed that her character will stop at nothing to keep Sam quiet. According to Metro, she explained: “She’s been really cruel to him because she views him as vulnerable, and she’s deliberately manipulating him through his grades. At the moment, she’s remaining completely calm.”

When asked how far Megan would go to silence Sam, Beth added: “I think she’d go to any lengths. She puts herself first and would walk over anyone if it meant protecting herself and staying on top.”

But as Sam edges closer to uncovering the truth, viewers are starting to fear it could end badly for him. Predicting a possible death twist, one fan wrote on a Coronation Street Facebook page: “Why do I get the awful feeling Megan might try to get rid of Sam?”

Another commented: “Kill him? Maybe — it would prove just how evil she really is.” A third added: “That would be heartbreaking.”

Someone else said: “If anything happens to Sam, I’m done with Corrie!”

A fifth simply wrote: “I really hope Sam doesn’t die.”
