Additional iconic Coronation Street and Emmerdale characters, including Cain Dingle and Carla Connor, have been confirmed for the historic Corriedale crossover episode

The moody promo offers a glimpse of the catastrophic pile-up and hints at which characters might be in danger as the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale collide.
The 30-second teaser was released exclusively on Monday (December 15) during The Big Quiz, ITV’s annual festive special in which Coronation Street and Emmerdale cast members face off in a soap trivia showdown hosted by Stephen Mulhern.
Newly confirmed characters caught up in the drama include Coronation Street’s Kit Green, James Bailey, Asha Alahan, Carla Connor, and Shona Platt, alongside Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle, Sarah Sugden, Charity Dingle, Jacob Gallagher, Robert Sugden, and Joe Tate. These join previously announced characters such as David Platt, Tracy Barlow, Liam Cavanagh, Aaron Dingle, and Lisa Swain.

In the aftermath of the multi-vehicle crash, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) takes charge of the chaotic scene, while a frantic Carla Connor (Alison King) attempts to calm someone down.
Injured Shona and David Platt (Julia Goulding and Jack P. Shepherd) receive care at the roadside from Emmerdale paramedic Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), while Coronation Street’s trainee paramedic Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) works alongside Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) to assist additional casualties.
Pregnant characters are also caught up in the drama. Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) can be seen helping a screaming Shona in a scene set at Hotton General Hospital.

As the trailer comes to an end, Kevin and Abi Webster (Michael Le Vell and Sally Carman-Duttine) are seen searching for Debbie at the crash site, while a desperate Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) calls out for Aaron in the darkness alongside Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
The hour-long Corriedale episode is set to air at 8pm on Monday, January 5, and will not be released earlier on ITVX.
Earlier in the evening, half-hour episodes of each soap will be broadcast — Emmerdale at 7pm, followed by Coronation Street at 7.30pm. Both of these episodes will be available on ITVX from 7am that morning.
