Viewers Predict Shocking Twist Involving Max Branning’s Wife and Mistress on EastEnders

Posted on January 14, 2026

EastEnders Fans Think They’ve Figured Out the Link Between Max’s Future Wife and Pregnant Lover

EastEnders’ infamous womaniser Max Branning is set to walk down the aisle for the fifth time, amid rumours of a secret affair.

Played by Jake Wood, Max recently returned to Walford and is scheduled to say “I do” on New Year’s Day 2027. In a bold flash-forward episode aired on January 1, viewers got a glimpse of his wedding day.

However, a twist emerged when he was seen waking up next to a pregnant woman just hours before the ceremony, hinting at a hidden romance. The identities of both his bride-to-be and the expectant woman remain a closely guarded secret.

On Tuesday (January 13), newcomer Bea Pollard, played by Ronni Ancona, found herself growing increasingly attracted to Max as she settled into life at the Peacock Palace.

She was excited about an upcoming date with him, arranged after her friend Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) suggested they go shopping together.

Despite some earlier tension between Max and Linda over a secret involving their daughter’s paternity, the exes now seem to be on friendly terms, even sharing a coffee at the local café, according to reports.

During their catch-up, Max admitted he didn’t have romantic feelings for Bea but felt sympathetic toward Linda’s old schoolmate and wanted to offer his support.

Still, Max agreed to meet Bea for a drink, mainly to please Linda. When he arrived at the bar, a nervous Bea assumed it was a proper date. Max tried to clarify the situation but quickly made his exit.

Left alone, Bea’s disappointment was clear, her expression showing a hint of frustration as Max walked away.

EastEnders viewers now speculate that Max and Linda will rekindle their romance, while Bea may develop an unhealthy obsession with Max, eventually becoming pregnant with his child.

Bea made her BBC drama debut last week during Linda’s school reunion, where she provocatively claimed that Linda had tormented her during their school days — raising the question of whether she might be plotting revenge.

On X, one fan predicted: “Ok I’m calling it now. Max marries Linda and gets Bea preggers #EastEnders”, while another speculated: “It’s early, but I think it’s Bea in the bed and Linda is the bride #EastEnders.”

A third fan theorised: “I’m guessing Bea Pollard is the woman in bed with Max in the flash-forward episode, Linda’s the bride. Bea sleeps with Max to get revenge on Linda for bullying her at school #EastEnders.”

Another viewer added: “Wouldn’t be surprised if Bea gets revenge on Max on New Year’s Day! She looked humiliated when she realised Linda asked Max to spend time with her #EastEnders.”

A further fan speculated: “Bea is either the one Max is going to marry, or the one he’s in bed with on the day he gets arrested… is it too early to call it? #EastEnders.”
