Emmerdale’s Mackenzie Boyd was delighted after receiving an update about his son Reuben in Friday’s Boxing Day episode
Emmerdale delivered a major update on Mackenzie Boyd’s son Reuben and Chloe Harris during Friday’s Boxing Day episode.
In the latest instalment, Kerry Wyatt paid a visit to Mackenzie, bringing festive family news that left the Scottish farmer and mechanic beaming with joy.
Kerry filled Mack in on how his son was doing, and he was clearly emotional as he exclaimed, “Wow, look at him, he’s so big! A proper little lad!” while looking through photos of Reuben opening his Christmas presents.
After Mack asked to see the pictures, Kerry agreed to share them, admitting she hadn’t intended to tell Chloe. Explaining her decision, Kerry said: “It’s Christmas, you’re his dad, and you deserve to know how he’s doing…”
Mack responded gratefully, saying: “That means the world to me — it’s amazing, thank you.”
Long-time Emmerdale fans will remember Reuben and Chloe, but for newer viewers, here’s a quick recap.
Who is Chloe on Emmerdale?
Chloe first arrived in the ITV soap in 2021 as the sister of Gemma Harris, who had donated her heart to Sarah Sugden following a transplant.
Viewers later discovered that Chloe’s father was dangerous gangster Damon, while Kerry Wyatt worked as the family’s cleaner and became a maternal figure in Chloe’s life.
Before long, Chloe went on to have relationships with several villagers, including Noah Dingle, Nate Robinson and Jacob Gallagher.
However, Noah, who became fixated on Chloe, soon displayed troubling behavior. When hundreds of photos of Chloe and video recordings from her bedroom were found on his laptop, he was reported to the police and later sentenced to three months in prison.
In a major revelation, it was later disclosed that Kerry was actually Chloe’s biological mother. Kerry had turned to her childhood friend, Karen Harris, for help after becoming pregnant at a young age. Karen and her husband Damon adopted Chloe, as they wanted to expand their family.
Chloe’s biological father is Tony, the same man who fathered the late Amy Wyatt. Later in life, Chloe discovered that Kerry was her real mother and that she had a sister, Amy.
Who is Reuben?
Viewers will remember that Mack had a brief romance with Chloe while on a temporary break from Charity Dingle, which resulted in Chloe becoming pregnant with Mack’s child.
Chloe later gave birth to a son, Reuben, and when Charity discovered the truth, it caused serious strain on her marriage to Mack.
Why and when did Chloe leave with Reuben?
In a dramatic storyline, Chloe’s criminal father, Damon, took Mack hostage. During the struggle to disarm Damon and save Mack, Charity accidentally shot and killed him.
When the police arrived, Chloe told Mack she would claim that Charity acted in self-defence—but only if he gave up custody of Reuben and allowed her to move to France with their son.
Although Mack was initially reluctant, he ultimately agreed to let Reuben leave for Charity’s sake. Chloe then departed the village with her son, leaving Mack devastated at losing him. The pair were last seen on Emmerdale in 2023.
