Who’s departing Coronation Street? All the stars set to exit the ITV soap

Posted on February 3, 2026

We’re just two months into the year, and Coronation Street has already served up some shocking moments — with even more drama and heartbreaking exits still to come.

Coronation Street has a long history of memorable exits, and 2026 is set to see several more.

Last year, fans said goodbye to characters like Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain), and Max Turner (Paddy Bever). Soap veteran Jenny Connor (Sally-Ann Matthews) also left the cobbles, 39 years after her debut.

But 2026 still has plenty of departures in store. Just last month, TV star Claire Sweeney announced she was leaving after three years in the role of Cassie Plummer. Here, we take a look at the stars set to leave the street…

Cassie Plummer

Claire Sweeney has portrayed Cassie Plummer since 2023. She arrived as the long-lost mother of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and has been involved in several major soap storylines.

Last week, it was announced that Claire is leaving the show, with her exit scheduled for this summer. She will depart the cobbles to take on the role of Miss Hannigan in the upcoming Annie tour.

Mystery Character

In mid-February, a character’s body will be discovered in a flash-forward twist, kicking off a murder mystery on the soap. However, it won’t be until months later that the actual death is shown in the present timeline, and the victim’s identity is revealed.

Coronation Street boss Kate Brooks explained: “There are five possible victims, and we’ll take the audience on a journey to figure out who the body belongs to, what happened, the backstory behind it, and how they ended up there. Why did that person die, and when?”

Billy Mayhew

It was announced last year that Daniel Brocklebank, who has played vicar Billy Mayhew since 2014, would be leaving the soap. His exit wasn’t shown until the dramatic Corriedale episode in January, when Billy was killed after being trapped in a minibus that exploded.

Reflecting on his departure, Daniel said: “I’ve spent a quarter of my life working on Corrie. I’ve loved every single minute in that building and have always looked forward to going into work.”
