Wednesday’s episode of Coronation Street saw Kevin Webster reach rock bottom after a turbulent time on the cobbles

Kevin Webster hit rock bottom in Wednesday’s episode of ITV’s Coronation Street.
Recently, Kevin — played by Michael Le Vell — has seen his world turned upside down after his wife, Abi Webster, left him for his estranged brother Carl Webster following a secret affair.
Kevin was left even more devastated when he discovered that his sister Debbie Webster, who has been diagnosed with young-onset vascular dementia, was refusing to cut ties with Carl. Adding to his pain, Debbie invited both brothers — along with Abi — to her Christmas wedding to Ronnie Bailey.
During the ceremony, Carl’s web of lies finally unravelled. His affair with James Bailey was exposed, along with the fact that he had conned Debbie out of money, was responsible for Tyrone Dobbs’ hit-and-run, and had even planned to flee to Germany once again — allegations he continued to deny.
After drinking heavily, Carl attempted to speed away in his car, but Debbie got inside the vehicle, telling him he would have to drive off with her still in it — which he ultimately did.

Carl then caused a multi-car crash, which led to the minibus driven by Billy Mayhew — returning from the wedding — colliding with him. The accident tragically killed Billy after Theo Silverton left him trapped in the vehicle to die. In a cruel twist, Carl moved an unconscious Debbie from the passenger seat into the driver’s seat, ensuring he wouldn’t face prison for drink driving and reckless driving.
Kevin has been left devastated by all that has happened, particularly knowing that Carl swapped Debbie in the car — something she denied, protecting Carl, who was later revealed to be her biological son.
After months of upheaval, Kevin finally reached his breaking point in Wednesday’s episode, climbing onto the roof of the garage and refusing to come down. Ultimately, it was his ex-wife Abi who managed to climb up and talk him down, allowing them to reconcile and make sense of everything that had happened.

Soap fans have been left wondering what’s next for Kevin, and whether recent events could lead to a reunion with Abi.
Upcoming spoilers show Kevin in court, standing by Debbie, who has taken the blame for Carl’s crimes.
Meanwhile, Abi actress Sally Carman spoke to The Mirror about her character and her future on the soap: “No, it never ends for Abi. She’s alright though. I think she’s okay now after Carl.”
When asked about a possible reunion with Kevin on the cobbles, she added: “I genuinely don’t know what’s planned in the script. I don’t know if Abi and Kevin will get back together.
“I love working with Michael Le Vell and I miss him, so as long as we still have scenes together, I’ll be fine.”
