EastEnders villain makes shocking return in unexpected Ravi storyline

Posted on January 8, 2026

EastEnders viewers were stunned when a supposedly deceased villain showed up in Wednesday’s episode of the BBC soap.

EastEnders has stunned viewers with the surprising return of Nish Panesar in a chilling scene alongside his son, Ravi Gulati.

As long-time fans will remember, the villainous Nish (Navin Chowdhry) was believed to have died on January 1, 2025, after being pushed off a hotel balcony by Ravi (Aaron Thiara) in an attempt to kill his ex-wife, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).

The dramatic incident unfolded during Suki and Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) wedding, where a dying Nish was desperate to stop his former wife from tying the knot.

A year later, Ravi is back in Walford, once again at the centre of chaos, having orchestrated a sinister drug operation involving Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) and Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho).

On Wednesday (January 7), Harry and Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) plotted to spike Ravi’s drink in a revenge scheme.

However, the mother-and-son duo don’t know that Ravi wasn’t prosecuted for his drug offences, having become a police informant, according to OK!.

After being refused permission to attend Eve and Suki’s adoption meeting with the rest of the family, Ravi went to Harry’s Barn, where he shared a drink with Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), who was grieving the recent death of his son, Anthony (Nicholas Bailey).

Ravi insisted he had turned over a new leaf and wanted a fresh start with his family, leaving crime behind—but the Mitchells clearly have other plans.

Pub landlady Nicola took the opportunity to offer grieving Patrick a free drink and extended the same gesture to Ravi.

However, Nicola secretly laced Ravi’s drink with a dangerous amount of drugs, serving both him and Patrick their beverages while Harry watched as his rival consumed the hazardous mix of alcohol and narcotics.

Soon, Ravi was staggering out of the pub, bumping into George Knight (Colin Salmon) on his way to the Square, only to be intercepted by an amused Harry.

The garage worker helped Ravi into The Arches, positioning him in the pit and subjecting him to torment. The situation was interrupted by Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), who pounded on the door and demanded that Harry return home to enjoy a Chinese takeaway as previously planned.

Although Harry turned down the offer, he was forced to leave the workshop and head to Billy’s for a family meal, leaving a petrified Ravi trapped alone in the pit.

As Ravi struggled with hallucinations, he heard footsteps approaching, followed by the unmistakable voice of his brutal father, Nish.

Nish ominously said, “There is no help here, son,” sending Ravi into a panicked scream. Could this signal the beginning of Ravi’s downfall? Will he be haunted by visions of Nish again?
