Emmerdale fan-favourite Graham Foster staged a shocking ‘return from the dead’ earlier this month after six years away

Emmerdale fans have been thrilled by the return of Graham Foster after six years.
Earlier this month, during the Coronation Street and Emmerdale crossover special Corriedale, it was revealed that Graham — who was believed to have died in 2020 — is actually alive and well.
He was spotted driving a van with a mysterious woman in the back, who was later identified as Jodie Ramsay, Shona Platt’s estranged sister from Coronation Street.
The revelation came as a major shock to viewers, as Graham, who has served as a legal guardian and father figure to Joe Tate since his debut in 2017, was thought to have been killed by Pierce Harris in 2020.
At the time, Graham had recently started a relationship with Rhona Goskirk, while Pierce, Rhona’s rapist ex-husband, had been released from prison just a week before Graham’s supposed death.

The Corriedale episode revealed that Graham had survived and had been living in hiding for several years.
Speaking about his unexpected return, Emmerdale actor Andrew Scarborough said: “Yes, a complete surprise. Absolutely. I never expected it at all. Although, having said that, I always thought Graham might have a chance of coming back.”
On keeping his comeback a secret from his family, the 52-year-old added: “Oh yes, it was a big secret, and I mostly kept it quiet from my family, which was tricky.”
He went on to explain who he had told: “Just a very limited few. In fact, some cousins contacted me after it aired, saying, ‘You sod!’”

One of Andrew Scarborough’s family members is his sister, Victoria Scarborough, who is also a well-known actress.
Victoria, 59, is recognised for roles such as Ruth Bannerman in The Grand (1998), Betty MacFell in The Cinder Path (1994), and Claire Monceau in Charlotte Gray (2001). Over the years, she has also appeared in shows including The Royal, Holby City, and Heartbeat.
In recent years, Victoria appears to have branched out into writing and directing, creating the short films Hysteria (2022) and Speed Date (2019).
